I've been looking at these Gravity-fed smoker/grills, and just found the CG 980 is half price today on Lowe's website. Usual price is $599, and it's now $299.
I'm leaning towards the Masterbuilt 800 for the griddle, but this sales price is really good.
If you don't see the sale price, try setting the store to Tustin, CA 92782. Looks like it's not a nationwide sales.

That being said, I can't replicate OP's deal. I get $600.
I see the grill at $299 after setting the store to 92782, but in checkout after adding my shipping address the grill goes back to $599
Yeah but when I try to checkout for home delivery it switches back to full price for me

No I'm not BSing you - it was mis-marked as a Q-Series 1000 unit which was on sale. In fact ALL OF THEM mare marked this way (see photo). So if you're in LA, RUN to West Hills Lowes and pick one up.
And just for SnG's I've uploaded a photo of the main barrel part of the unit across my backseat showing it can fit in a car (but I wouldn't do it unless you are a Master Tetris Player).
Now here's the KICKER....
