As to Allclad... I'd suspect buying an electric tool from Allclad is like buying one from Snapon. it'll be ok because they have a name, but will never equal companies who specialize in electric tools.

If anything, I'd like a good cordless hand blender. All of the ones I've tried so far are way too weak. All Clad has one I wouldn't mind giving a go, but I can't seem to find one in stock anywhere.

Amen to that. I just bought a high end kitchen aid hand mixer a year or so ago and it's bleh on power. Blades are all short nowadays too.

This isn't an aliexpress or some low tier brand name..not only the name but braun products I've gotten in the past have always been quality, although not sure if that's changed ...
