Its retail price is more like $20. Almost all jackets made by River's End sell for less than $20.

Same price at Walmart for easier returns. Would be very surprised if it's actually waterproof but at $15 for basically 2 jackets it's worth a try.

I should also say the sizes are L and XL, not the off size in the OP.

Why waste your money to try a cheap product? Buy something more high-end that will look and fit better and last longer.
Agree. Buy one, or a few, and donate them. You won't be wasting your money and the jacket will be greatly appreciated.

People don't realize all raw materials pretty much come from the same place. What makes products different is the material class they use in that products. Then on top of that, you are paying for the commodity brand.

Northface and other name brand products are made in Vietnam, Bangladesh, China, Jordan, and Cambodia. I see so many people think they spent the money with name brands, which means they are above other classes. Yall look like a donkey.

To be fair, it's more of a Land's End complement than a clone. Water gotta start and end somewhere too. 😆

I agree. When you buy a cheap product you have a reduced expectation and think if it sort of works and lasts a few uses you got your money's worth. When it falls apart you throw it out thinking, "well it was only $15". When it sort of does what you got it for...

When you buy a quality product, not necessarily expensive, it will look better and more importantly do the job better and for more many years. I had a North Face jacket that I used around town and more importantly for winter activities like downhill skiing, cross country skiing and snowshoeing and winter backpacking. All were high wear sports and the jacket still looked like new when I gave it to a youngster who will get another lifetime of use out it.

I have been to one of those manufacturers. The same manufacturer supplies to various brands. The quality of the raw materials used are not the same. The higher quality materials are used for stores like l Lands End, Northgate etc.

If it weren't for the fact that I have an old Wallabies Rugby yellow jacket I'd be picking one of these up to stick in the boot as an emergency coat. Cheap comfort for when you unexpectedly break down or get stuck.

I got this delivered from Shoebacca. Packaged well. It's actually much nicer than I thought it'd be. Heavy outer and seems more than just water resistant so it'll probably work in snow but not heavy rain. Packable hood seems to be slightly thicker than most. Double zippers. The lining is nice not just a piece of fleece but rather textile lined on the inside so baselayers don't get caught up in the sleeves. I'd say this easily compares to an entry level $100+ Columbia interchange or similar. I'm sure there are lower level materials used but overall seems quite sturdy and no loose threads as this level of priced jackets would have. Some cool details as well such as a arm mesh pocket, double chest zip pockets, and a chest loop I guess maybe for lift tickets and such. Pictures definitely didn't do it justice.
