You may be right, but if that's the case, then these sale prices may become more permanent as a lot of people will be leaving or downgrade otherwise, that had gotten used to this benefit. (also, its only available in the ad free tier)
I prefer theater for most movies. I believe Batman is going to be 3 hours, which may be where I would rather stay at home.
I don't have the attention span to watch a three-hour movie at home, whereas at the theater I welcome the longer running time. There's only so long that it's beneficial to Warner Brothers to keep putting first-run blockbuster movies on HBO Max.
I think that pretty much every online cable company is constantly doing that.
They all keep increasing prices while adding channels we really don't care about, defeating the purpose of cutting cable. SlingTV seems to be the best at holding it's value.
My recommendation is to get SlingTV and then add a couple of streaming services on the side. Hulu/Netflix/HBO for 1-2 months. Hulu/Netflix/Peacock next month..Hulu/Netflix/Disney+ for a few months ... Hulu is just like a couple dollars a month for most of us. This brings your overall cost way down and you really have a lot more control..

If you have Verizon for wireless, they're offering two months of Sling for free right now, either blue or orange.
Can someone explain the Argentina trick for HBO max to me? Will I need to turn on the vpn everytime I want to watch something?
The wire was way overrated in my opinion. Very good show but not amazing.
Deadwood on the other hand is really underrated. I loved binging it. I was amazed such a good show was on there that I had never heard much about.
If you came to The Wire recently you probably have watched dozens of show that are derivative of The Wire. The Wire was groundbreaking and you can't fully appreciate how different it was when many of the concepts are in almost every show now. The show is great and I highly recommend it but I get that you're just not going to get the omg reactions if you're watching it for the first time in 2022.

I watched it probably close to 5 years ago after seeing it hyped so much.. what was so groundbreaking? It was a very good show but i did not find it groundbreaking even for its time.. its very similar to law and order which has been around forever.
You have to figure that the current deal HBO Max brokered directly with users when the channel was evicted from Amazon videos channel options is 50% off the ad-free price for 6 months. That started around the 3rd week of September 2021 for me. My 50% off deal ceases in March 2022, at which point I'll be canceling the service. I have greatly enjoyed HBO Max, but on general principle, I'll cancel it. I suspect many millions of others who joined during the same deal in September 2021 will do the same.
So what do you think the chances are that a new deal (undoubtedly not 50% off) will arise shortly thereafter?
I think chances are good. Very, VERY good.
Got an email today that they are automatically extending the promo to 12 months - sweet!

Maybe not enough for an entire year, but try it for a month.
HBO has been making excellent original content for 40 years. You couldn't get through all the good shows in a year if you tried.
