Home Depot [homedepot.com] has Defiant 10 Amp 120-Volt Smart Plug on Clearance for $2.52.

It is a Hubspace smart home platform device released by Home Depot connected through Wi-Fi/Bluetooth and compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant.
Not showing Samsung Smartthings compatible [Yet, Hopefully] in the info or Smartthings app (Tragically for me)
Reviews have it at 4.8 stars but with a small amount of them.
Be aware this is a recent new product line that they've released.

Home depot has it listed online for $7.97 but is currently showing OOS online based on a few zip codes I checked.
Found it by chance today while checking the clearance section and from the look of it, it might have been placed there today if not recently based on the sticker.

IN STORE ONLY and the price may vary as Brickseek [brickseek.com] only shows clearance/Price not available

Just another wild goose chase. Home Depot brickseek inventory is about as reliable as Walmart's these days.

Brickseek is good for giving you an idea if you may find it, but the window on these deals are very small. I tested my home depot and it did update with brickseek after my purchase a few hours later. Always that YMMV situation

On the note at the top, I read somewhere about a month+ ago that Samsung plans to discontinue SmartThings in favor of their newer system, but don't recall a date, so you might want to keep a look out for that and don't look for things to be added to it.

Plenty of other smart home controllers available to replace that. I myself don't really use SmartThings

Brickseek shows 22 in my current store.

HomeDepot.com shows this item is not available in any stores within 100 miles of me.

Update:
FWIW, I visited the store in Plainville, MA. There were 7 on the shelf at $2.52 each. No yellow sticker.

I talked myself out of buying any as they're only 10 amp. There were several new unopened cases of nearly identical 15 amp outlets behind the 10's. One 15 amp box was out and scanned for $12.97.

Although Samsung is NOT discontinuing SmartThings they did EOL:
o First Gen. SmartThings hub (2013).
o SmartThings Link for NVIDIA SHIELD.
o ADT SmartThings Home Security & Safety System

According to HD, nothing around me.

According to BS, 10+ available 30 mins away.

Guess I'm gonna pass on this one. Good luck.

FYI, from what I can tell, not able to be re-flashed with ESPHome or similar (and therefore not compatible with Home Assistant).

That's the thing, controller boxes are way out of style. These days devices connect directly to a server on the internet, which is can then typically be used by Google, Amazon, possibly Apple, and possibly others.

Found a few of these in 83616 and bought them just to play with for lamps in our home. Set one up using the HubSpace app. Works like a charm. 10Amp limitation is noted...

Now time to change my temp wifi password back...

Cool find, OP! Thank you!

I think the concept of hubs is dumb and outdated, since the more modern items that do the same things are hub-less.

The other things against hub devices, or at least the ones I have seen advertised, is that the devices cost more AND REQUIRE a hub to be bought as well, so what's the point?
