Was looking for a 4TB NVMe drive and found this one. CamelCamelCamel shows this to be the lowest it's been in almost a year.

Poster above is poor.

Pretty sure it's been that price for a while.

The PCI 4.0 version is about 100 bucks more.

I'm waiting for the 8tb 4.0 version and some benchmarks and power usage stats.

Is this not PCIe Gen4? And is that a hard requirement for a PS5?

It's the same price on Newegg but Amazon has a 5% off coupon. Brought it down to $617.50

Pay $600 for an NVMe drive because I love speed or pay $800 for one that's twice as fast? It's easily worth the PCIe 4.0 one that's twice is fast IMO.

But I don't love speed enough to pay this much. I settled for a $170 1TB PCIe 4.0 six months ago. That's plenty fast enough for my OS and enough space for my favorite games/apps.

This drive is $500

https://smile.amazon.com/PNY-CS3040-Internal-Solid-State-Drive-M280CS3040-4TB-RB/dp/B08TRN15K5?ref_=... [amazon.com]

It's gen 4 and a lot cheaper.

EDIT: 4 TB version seems to be QLC NAND.
