Shows in stock but doesn't give a price... tempting
Yeah, the "Clearance" is so annoying. When I was there, the stock was very full and my store usually does not have deals in stock. Chances are good, especially if you need to go there for something else...
Doesn't "medium duty" really mean crappy? Most manufacturers claim "heavy duty" on marginal quality items so I can't imagine this is a very good hose. Still for under $5 though might be worth it

As if the reviews/responses from this site are reliable ---with many parroted from those same site reviews. Meanwhile, this is Home Depot and not Amazon that is cut throat by the competition all selling similar from Asia.
Personally, I like the site reviews with pictures as proof. 192 one stars out of 934 total, or about half of all being 3 star or less is a pretty good clue that answers your question of 'medium duty being crappy.' .... lol
I assume that at this price this is one of those not very flexible hoses that if you don't twist and replace it just right on the holder, which is hard to do because it's so inflexible, it kinks and those kinks tend to become semi-permanent and constrict flow in subsequent uses. If so I'd avoid if you intend to use it regularly. I got something cheap like it a while back as an extension hose, but it's not our main hose so I can live with this limitation.
Had to buy a new water hose 2 weeks ago and the only brand that my local HD sold was Waterworks. God what a POS that brand is. So much for "Made in USA". First one I bought was medium-duty and it sprung a leak everywhere on the hose with first usage same day. Returned it and got the heavy duty version. After using it, I'm already seeing a small tear on the outer layer at one spot. My previous hose was a medium-duty Craftsman and it had lasted me years.
Not sure how this Apex brand is but reviews don't look too promising.

I bought 2 Waterworks hoses from HomeDepot in 2004 for my first home (for the front and back yard). One is still going and the other got crushed at the metal end by a contractor about 4 years ago. They were the "medium duty kind". Never got taken inside for the winter or anything and didn't have any leaks at all.
Just sad to see the decline in quality through the years : (
