This is a blend of ice melting ingredients. Primary ingredient is sodium chloride (NaCl) with 85-99%
This is not good for pets, vegetation, metal, concrete, etc.

I was looking at ice melts in Lowes the other day. All brands had big words on the front side. Magnesium Chloride!, Pet friendly, safe for enviroment, safe for all! Look behind and most of the ingredients were salt and everything else but MgCl.

Be sure to read the list of ingredients before purchasing.

I bought Road Runner MgCl, single ingredient. Worked great for ice melt. Only issue is that you need a lot. Benefit was its really pet friendly and has no environmental issues.

& OP!

Price is lower than what I pay for their 20 lb bag and it will be here Saturday. We're expecting around a foot of snow on Sunday.

Not sure, I've never used any of these ice melts. After reading some more, some sites say these don't expire and others say 2 year shelf life. I'm assuming probably has to do with the type of ice melt and the ingredients.

None available locally so ordered 3 for shipping. Thinking it will probably get canceled which will suck but at least my UPS person won't hate me Smilie

In a bucket with a lid.... and use a cup, can, etc. to scoop it out.

Walmart+, like Prime, makes it too easy for impulse buying.

Just sent a couple as gifts to those that have not moved to warmer weather.

I live in northern VA and nothing available for pickup in my area and you can't even add it to your cart, so I guess that means they won't ship it either? I hate that about the Walmart app and web site, that they just don't come out and tell you "not available for shipping".

These "blends" usually are worthless mixtures of calcium chloride and fillers. The thing I don't like about this is the green coloring from the crystals will be left behind. You don't want to be stepping on that and walking back in the house. It's a great price but I think regular 100% calcium chloride is the way to go.

Maybe try a different zip code for where you are ordering from ---that often works with Home Depot and others. Had the same issue with a rural NM address, used 62701 in Illinois and it went through.
Note: Sometimes, you have to sign out, clear cookies, do not sign in, use a different zip code and check out with PayPal under alternate payments.

I was able to get it shipped for free in WI. I also have Walmart plus, but I think that only affects shipping minimums.
I've hag 3.99 orders shipped free with Walmart plus.

Not this product but I bought Ice Melt 20lb bags for $1 at Walmart 4 years ago, maybe longer. I used the last bag this year. It worked fine.

Is this stuff safer for dog paws?
https://www.petpoisonhelpline.com...-ice-melt/

CaCl seems to be the one that can cause skin irritation (paws)
NaCl is bad if they ingest them though.
