About this deal:
My price research indicates that this item was previously on frontpage for $12.74 with +79 Thumbs
Size down….2yrs back when that glitch happened @ Carhartt, k87 were $6.97..Bought 10 Xl.I'm a bigger guy(5'11" 235lbs) and Xl in every other brand shirt I wear.I learned my lesson to buy 1 size down in Carhartt.
Does anyone have any experience with factory seconds from Carhartt?
I have, hit and miss. Some I've noticed nothing wrong and others have been obviously patched. Patched meaning stitching used to repair defects in the product. At $10 even though some are patched, they are fine as typically these are casual wear OR work wear... if it was a dress shirt then that would change things a bit.
Not about this specific offer but about Sierra.com: I was frequently ordering from them and also visiting their Reno, NV store over the past years. Since the last 2 to 3 years I didn't shop there anymore as after the acquisition by TJX and the transition time product variety and offers - especially outdoor brands - went downhill. I assume they must have lost tons of customers, not only me …
Same experience here. Not a good company to deal with after they bought the original owners. The Reno store lost most of their long time employees due to new corporate rules one employee told me. A visit to Reno always included a stop at STP. The quality of their gear has nose dived.
I was reading the online reviews for K87 t-shirts. Turns out the sizing is all over the place depending on where it's made. Shirts manufactured in Guatemala run at least a size too big and are 90% cotton. Shirts manufactured in Honduras run too small and are 60% cotton.
If you look at the specs it indicates the following for the fabric: Fabric: 100% cotton or, 90% cotton, 10% polyester or, 60% cotton, 40% polyester or, 57% cotton, 43% polyester
Pretty much Sierra is telling you that these shirts are not consistant and are dependant upon origin of the manufacturers.
Tall shirts are 2" longer in length and 1/2" longer in the sleeves (per carhartt.com)
If you want to return and order for a refund Sierra charges you an additional $6.95 to cover shipping charges: If the item is received and meets our return policy timeframe and condition guidelines, the refund will reconcile to the original method of payment. A $6.95 ($10.95 AK.HI) shipping fee will apply to returns for refund. This fee covers return shipping from you to us. Original shipping cost will not be refunded unless there was a Sierra error.
IMHO I'd skip this SD for the following reasons:
1. Need to pay for shipping
2. Sizing and fabric is all over the place
3. This is a refurb/2nd so quality of stitching may vary from shirt to shirt
4. $7 return fee if you want a refund

And they are pro mandates, shows the disconnect from even their customer base
Does anyone have any experience with factory seconds from Carhartt?
Factory seconds typically mean a wrong thread color/type was used on a batch or there is a small issue with the stitching on the product that wouldn't hinder the product in any way, but they can't sell it as a first as it has an imperfection

Not sure if its linked to your log-in email address or not (but it probably isn't).
