Amazon comingles inventory. When you order from one seller, you may get masks from another seller just because they are in the closest warehouse to you. That means if a 3rd party seller provides a bunch of counterfeit masks they could be mixed with the real ones.

Do not buy any safety critical things from amazon.

If you say that yours are legit, then I believe you. But lots of reviewers are claiming that they got fake or used ones. Either they're lying, or they're mistaken. But if you do get fake or otherwise bad ones, how good has Amazon been about refunding or replacing them, since they're not returnable?
In general, if you can prove they are fake or used (ie, you took a video or picture showing this. the gold standard is taking a video from the time you open the box to you examining the actual items. no one does this, but consider doing this for high value suspicious items where you ordered a PS5 and think they may have shipped you a box of rocks instead), then Amazon is usually really good at refunds. If you just say "they're fake" but can't prove it, they look at your history. If you rarely if ever do returns and purchase $$$ from Amazon, they almost always grant the refund. If you return like crazy, then they'll probably decline the refund.

Search mask extenders/ear savers on Amazon and you'll save your ears.

There are really no N95 respirators that will fit a child's small face. These are designed for adults.

I return probably 5-7% of the items I purchase on Amazon, in terms of actual items. Dollar-wise it's probably lower, meaning I tend to return lower-cost items more than higher-cost ones, so I'm probably good in that respect and they'll believe me. But in this instance I assume that a photo of some suspicious thing about the masks, like bad S/N's, or odd-looking type or graphics on the box or masks, would be enough, if they asked for proof, which I doubt they would.

Honestly, with the feds about to send everyone free masks, I might not even bother with these. We still have a bunch of KN95 & KF94 masks that are good for several more months. But in case I decide to get these, not just for covid but for future auto work, I thought I'd ask.

...Ok, I ended up going for it. It's not that expensive, in fact a bargain compared to what's out there now, assuming they're real and unused and all that. I needed decent dust and particulate masks anyway for non-covid use and these seem perfect for that. 20 is way more than I'd need for this but if they do double duty then it's a good buy, even with the free fed masks that are coming.

How effective and/or comfortable are these to protect against covid, especially compared to genuine KN95 % KF94 masks?

And can they be safely reused as often as KN95 & KF94 masks?

Also, apart from covid, how effective are these for auto/home DIY use to protect against dust, fumes, smoke, etc., especially compared to those cheap HF dust masks? I mean based on peoples' personal and professional experience and not just what it says on the product page.

And where can one buy N95, KN95 or KF94 masks that are guaranteed to be genuine, new and unexpired for a reasonable cost, no more than $1 a mask?
I'll answer 2 questions..

These work very well for DIY work. You will eat a lot of dust using any type of electrical saw or sander with a HF dust mask. The n95 keeps almost everything out. I have experienced first hand.

As for where to buy authentic masks an authorized retailer such as Home Depot, Lowes, Grainger, McMaster Carr, Uline, Staples, etc will most definitely be authentic because they get them directly from the manufacturer.

Can confirm. Stopped at my local HD last night and picked up a couple 10 packs of 3M Aura masks. They had 10 packs of these masks as well.

To many reviews on amazon state the 3m safeguard codes were good... but the boxes arrived open with the masks in one bag which is a red flag.
