I'm pretty sure that device can be swapped once activated and the plan itself costs around $40 on sale. I have similar set up for my kid as emergency while he's in school. Doesn't spoil them with unlimited data and not fancy enough to play games or show off so he can stay focused on learning lol.
I am always new to HSN!
I activated the Samsung A11 yesterday as a new Tracfone account. Upon activation they sent the following text, which states 60 days:
Hi there, a quick update from Tracfone.
We have an updated unlocking policy. You can check it here http://tf-w.co/NZyp2bR

Keep in mind, TRACFONE totally sux, & has the worst customer service on the planet.
You obviously haven't had to deal with AT&T.

Does ANY phone company have good customer service?
Now that Verizon has taken over will be interesting to see if TF/TW etc. customer service improves, so far they're as uninformed as ever about the changes to the unlocking policy so I don't hold out much hope.

Both the $30.00 and $60.00 phones have no FM radio chipset !! Dang , not so sure now..

$30.00 phone has old school micro USB not USB C , and 2 gigs ram , weak.

$60.00 phone has USB C , 3 gigs ram , maybe dual sim ?

All my phones have been HSN and Moto phones , Moto play , Moto maxx , great phones and a year of service for cheap but I need FM radio ..

So odd to omit FM radio , I would buy the $30.00 one if it had USB C and the $60.00 one if it had FM radio..
G Pure from Visible has FM. Not sure about the Tracfone version.

This is amazing. I bought Tracfones back in November and activated them on the Verizon network exactly on 11/23, which is the cut-off date to get unlocked within 60 days! Thanks for sharing this. Without this post, I would have waited the full year

See post #117, right above your question.
Maybe I am being dense but I still am not clear. I have a very old phone that I have been using pre-paid service. I want to replace this phone but want to transfer my existing number which I have had for many years. I am not sure how to validate that Tracfone could make this happen.

Call Customer Service.
With an older phone, it can take longer to transfer the number, especially if the calls go on different carrier lines.

Tracfone allows you to request the transfer on their web page, and they say it can take up to 48 hours. I did this once a few years ago, and waited the 48 hours, and the number still hadn't transferred. I had to call customer service (a major pain in the next with Tracfone) and they had to do it. I think I was on the phone for over an hour ... using my minutes (they wouldn't replace the minutes). You can try chat as well.

Before transferring your number, start a chat and ask them to confirm the number of minutes, texts, and amount of data on your phone, plus the day your minutes expire. Then make sure to send a copy of the chat transcript to your email. If the transfer goes wrong, the chat transcript is the only thing Tracfone will accept as proof of your balances. (You'd think they would have that information in the system, but I've seen complaints from people saying Tracfone refused to replace the lost balances without a chat. A screenshot of your balances isn't enough.)

It's simple, most of us upgrade all the time. Get new phone, go to website, choose activate a Tracfone, enter requested info, choose to keep current number, after a few minutes current balance and current number switches to new phone.

Or if you're not comfortable with that, call support and have them do it for you. It's probably time you upgraded Smilie

The Moto E (XT2052DL) in particular has a faster CPU than the Moto G Pure according to Geekbench 5. The single-core score for the Moto E and the Moto G is ~230 and ~130 respectively so the Moto E boasts around a 76% uplift. Can't go wrong with the cheaper option in your case.
It would be worth it for the extra RAM, switching between your most basic and frequently used apps can be slugging because I think the OS closes them in the background when not in use, no matter what settings you may adjust to prevent it. I have 2 Moto E's and have to use a Wake Lock to keep it from going into deep CPU sleep, because it could take 5 seconds to turn on from power button press, and this Wake Lock will drain the battery a bit more. Over all though, it's quite decent for $30. Don't forget you also get Rewards points(twice if you refer yourself) which could pay for your service for basically and extra month to a few depending on your usage.

3 of those, which might have something to do with the way you plug/unplug.

I got this the last deal (6 months ago). Really nice little phone to have a year of emergency service. This is basically the Moto E 7. The E5 was nice, the E6 kinda sucked, this one is the nicest of the three. Good screen for Youtubes and feels good in your hand. The G Pure is better but not sure how much better.

BTW the chip supports fast charging and this says it is charging fast when I put it in a higher voltage charger As I recall it came with a crappy low voltage charger I threw away.

But in the past Verizon didn't own the company and we have no idea if - or how - they might change things, everything is up in the air.
"Before Verizon" won't be the same as "After Verizon", guaranteed.
When I've purchased Tracfones through HSN, there's never been anything that mentions the phone must be activated within X amount of time.
Verizon (and Tracfone) legally has to honor the terms of the phones sold by Tracfone.

But given Tracfone's (and Verizon's) horrid customer service, trying to get them to honor their terms if you wait too long to activate the phone ... is close to a waste of time (your time is more valuable than the phone is worth). You could try disputing the charge with your credit card company, but that protection is only for a couple of months (and doesn't work with other forms of payment, like debit cards or paypal, etc.). Some credit cards have warranty benefits that might cover this.

For the last 5 or so years, I've always waited for cheap deals and had on hand usually 2 extra phones that cover me for the next year, in case I can't find cheap deals like the one in the OP when I need more minutes (I use around 2500-3000 minutes annually). It's possible some day I won't be able to activate a phone, but it hasn't happened yet.

Was surprised how smooth it was too, seemed to be as fast as TF Optimo Max which has 3gb ram. I have newer better phones, so only used it for a few months. Harvested the plan and gave to neighbor that was using an older phone. IMO it's well worth the price - if you can use the coupon.
