I'm pretty sure that device can be swapped once activated and the plan itself costs around $40 on sale. I have similar set up for my kid as emergency while he's in school. Doesn't spoil them with unlimited data and not fancy enough to play games or show off so he can stay focused on learning lol.
I am always new to HSN!
I activated the Samsung A11 yesterday as a new Tracfone account. Upon activation they sent the following text, which states 60 days:
Hi there, a quick update from Tracfone.
We have an updated unlocking policy. You can check it here http://tf-w.co/NZyp2bR

Have you done this? Does the phone still work correctly?

All the reviews I saw say that it cannot be uninstalled.
I have not although I'm one step away from it. I'm just not sure what the app does? I need my phone to be unlocked from TF (still have one month left) and I'm not sure if uninstalling this will get in the way or not, so I haven't uninstalled it yet. I usually do this with Google's bloatware garbage apps too.

Especially on Motorola TF, web search says it's "impossible".
adb uninstall works with every app. Even system ones.

You need to type this in adb shell -> https://i.imgur.com/EIYSMy8.png
and it should uninstall.

That said, it is quite scummy of TF to not allow uninstalling this through normal means. I guess it's not surprising since every company wants to track everyone nowadays.

I'm also concerned that removing it will somehow mess up the prepaid minutes/texts/data I have. Although those are attached to the SIM card, I worry removing Device Pulse could mess things up.

When you remove it, please report back ... interesting to know the outcome on your phone, even though it sounds like you're not worried about losing minutes/data/text when you unlock your phone.

Try it and get back to us.
Not saying it won't work but I can't find any android forum that agrees. TF tightly locks down their phones & messing with a TF system app could screw something up - plus I think it's a violation of TF terms so phone should be unlocked & maybe inactive or on another network.

Yeah, I definitely intend to uninstall once the device gets unlocked. I've been patient about not messing around with this phone too much since TF unlocking is pretty strict (and annoying).

My 2cents though? This is just another uninstallable bloatware crap that TF is following like every other phone companies. I doubt this app is needed at all to run the phone normally.

It was actually fun while it lasted, I've still got the 4 easy to remember phone numbers from back then that are now on GV and TF.
Anyone who runs multiple numbers typically uses them for illegal/immoral purposes. Fess up and tell the community the shenanigans you pull. I bet people will start to look at you differently. Anyone on the up and up only needs one number.

I agree it has little to do with phone operation but it may be installed not to let it be removed. As much as I dislike having it I don't want to mess up my Moto G Power, it's still scheduled for one more Android update.

There was a limit per phone, you needed to carry 5 phones to make sure you always had service. Some Slickdealers carried more

Combined it with the deal with Radio Shack for 5ys of free Netflix (ended up with 20yrs of free Netflix for 4 family members) I sold most of the phones in bulk on Ebay and ended up getting the phones and the Netflx almost free. Everyone did have to carry 5 phones, which today I still get reminded about.
You just admitted to committing fraud. Post your name and email addresses that will be sent to NFLX legal team to review. If you are not guilty, you will be excused.

In reality, you should delete this post. Admitting to fraud online is not a good idea.

Both the $30.00 and $60.00 phones have no FM radio chipset !! Dang , not so sure now..

$30.00 phone has old school micro USB not USB C , and 2 gigs ram , weak.

$60.00 phone has USB C , 3 gigs ram , maybe dual sim ?

All my phones have been HSN and Moto phones , Moto play , Moto maxx , great phones and a year of service for cheap but I need FM radio ..

So odd to omit FM radio , I would buy the $30.00 one if it had USB C and the $60.00 one if it had FM radio..
moto g pure has fm radio

Yes and no. I would go with a low cost plan for a Senior IMO. A lot of us have service paid through the next century and just want to keep it active, or use the phones for vacation etc. For the tech savy, you use Google Voice etc, and will never use much of the service at all.

Texts, Minutes and Data are good for 365 days (not per month). When either are depleted prior to 365 days, you either buy new phone package or separate items (Minutes, Days, Texts or Data) from another source. Tracfone direct, tracfone via eBay or Walmart are good sources.
I've been waiting for Tracfone via eBay deal for $30 / annual, but this deal is better as it includes new phone. I purchased same package in July 2021. I will activate new phone in July 2022, then unlock (prior to Nov '21 activation, so 1 year unlock) and dump on eBay for $25 or more. Rinse and repeat every time new HSN Phone deal comes up for $30. Applause
Thanks. How much data?

This is posted above in #146 (review it, there's more info in that post) ... but ... you obviously didn't see it ....
Before transferring your number, start a chat and ask them to confirm the number of minutes, texts, and amount of data on your phone, plus the day your minutes expire. Then make sure to send a copy of the chat transcript to your email. If the transfer goes wrong, the chat transcript is the only thing Tracfone will accept as proof of your balances. (You'd think they would have that information in the system, but I've seen complaints from people saying Tracfone refused to replace the lost balances without a chat. A screenshot of your balances isn't enough.)
You are correct, I didn't see it, but thanks for pointing it out. Makes sense.
