667GB is honestly more than enough for the PS5 games I've got -- Demon's Souls, Returnal, and Ghost of Tsushima. I've got like 500GB storage left on the internal.

I think I'll be more than fine waiting for these to drop massively in price.

Plus, my 2 TB external HDD is more than enough to handle offloading PS5 games for storage and PS4 games to run off of for probably a couple of years. The only PS5 games I'm really looking forward to this year are Horizon FW and God of War sequel anyway.
Larger storage can't hurt. I mean if you've checked out the crazy demo of Unreal Engine 5, you won't be surprised if that takes hundreds of gigs. PS5 is still early in its life cycle. Games will definitely get more sophisticated and storage-demanding in the future.

Damn I'm hoping BestBuy updates the price on their website so I can take advantage of the WD 15% coupon.

I think you can chat and ask for a price match given that it's sold by Amazon and not a 3rd party seller

Agent said the model number on Best Buy's website is WDBAPY0020BNC-WRSN model nuwhile thember on Amazon is WDS200T1X0E and refused to price match. What a bummer even though they have the same SN 850 WD Black label and the same processing speed of 7000/5100 mbps.

How many more games will 2TB vs. 1TB store? Are we talking on scale of 5-10 more or 10-20 more? I think price difference can be around $150 per TB right now, but not sure I'd ever fill 2TB. (Although if COD can get to be 250GB, then 1TB sounds pretty small.)
Really depends on the game. COD IIRC took up like 250 gigs or someting ridiculous. Most AAA are like 80-100 gigs.

Hello,

I am truly not trying to be a smart a$$ but the answer to your question seems obvious. Its like asking "How much more milk would a 2 gallon jug hold then a 1 gallon jug?". The "scale' really can't be answered though due to the difference in game sizes.

As for the SN850s I have the 1TB version of these drives in my new build and they are AMAZING. I have two in a RAID and the third as my OS/App drive. They impress not just in benchmarks but IRL uses as well. If you can, always go for the larger drive as it almost always works out best in the long run. It amazes me how few games it takes to fill up a 2TB drive now a days.

Hard to imagine anyone would be really disappointed in these drives.
Take care & have F U N!!

What if best buy found a way to deny price matching by potentially getting "special" SKUs from manufacturers for the same product.

If that happens in the future, quickly close the chat and try a different rep. I was able to price match Amazon via Best Buy chat. I wanted to make sure the drive didn't sell out before I made it to Best Buy. I then went ro Best Buy and exchanged my Samsung 980 drive for the 2TB SN850. After receiving the price match in store I canceled my original order. It all depends on which rep you talk to.

It's not enough for me... I've got demon souls, dmc5se, 2k22, Spiderman, cod, ff7remake and countless others. I can't be bothered with reinstalling, or slow externals.

I got the geek certified Samsung 980 pro 2TB for $250 and just started my build yesterday. Does anyone know if the 5 year warranty applies if I bought this refurbished? I saw conflicting info on this. If not think I will return and spend the $20 more for a new drive

For $20 extra I'd go with the SN850. No warranty issues and the SLC cache is much bigger on the SN850 as well.
