People commonly pass on anything more than $15/TB, but if you "need" this now it's better than a kick in the teeth.
I got two 14TB externals for $200 each minus $40 cashback each, essentially $11.43/TB. I wanted bigger drives but at that price I decided to pull the trigger. Shucked them and put them in my new Synology 920+ and so far so good. That was Black Friday pricing though, so don't expect to see that again soon.
18TB for $300 pops up once in a while, which is $16.67/TB. Just saw that within the past week IIRC. That's what I'll probably get the next time I'm in the market.
Edit: Ok, 12/28 was the most recent actually.

I gave the deal a thumbs up after looking at past deals and realizing there was only one deal for 16TB that was cheaper than this one and didn't require any extra hoops to jump through. It was around the holidays though so probably unable to replicate that anytime soon. So in hindsight this is a pretty good price, especially compared to last year when Chia was jacking up the prices.

If 14 tb was 200 dollars for Nov-Dec with extra 30 dollars discount with hard drive/sd/ssd trade-in or recyle program to make the 14 tb 170 dollars.
14TB for 200 dollars would be good deal.
16TB for 230 would be good deal
18TB for 260 would be good deal
20TB for 290 would be good deal
If BB wanted to sell a ton of these devices at "good deal" price ... , many of us would buy them.
This deal of 275 for 16TB is about 45 dollars too much for "good deal" as 0 thumps up (balance between TU and TD). is showing today.
Most of us can wait for a "good deal", and a few of us want a "slick deal" so we can wait longer (unknown factor).
I'm in the market, since my NAS will need bigger size drives towards the end of this year.
