Sony for:
- Size
- Darker rooms
- Better sound
- PS5

Samsung for:
- Brighter rooms
- Need for viewing at wide angles
- Better UI
- XboxSX

Both are really good choices and I think it mostly comes down to the location you will put it in. Light in room, how far your seats are from the TV, what angle from the TV, etc.

Can you clarify why one is better for the PS5 and the other better for XboxSX?

Are you in the EPP program or is there a promo code to use for an additional discount?
Looks like an edu account also shows 1349 (same as EPP)

How many ports support HDMI 2.1? Samsung website specs do not mention anything about it.

I have 2017 75" Samsung TV (from Costco). I could never make it work with my Onkyo NR646 amplifier with HDMI passthrough. Onkyo tech support claimed that it is the Samsung TV issue in multiple phone calls.

Not sure about this new Samsung TV.

It pains me to suggest it because there really aren't any good discounts on them but if your budget is up to 3k definitely get a OLED by LG or Sony. I don't really know much about the Panasonic models. Rtings site can help you decide which one is best for you.

If you want a bright image that really pops, similar to my experience when I first got a plasma a long time ago, OLED is the way to go.
Thanks for the suggestion. May I ask what you currently own? I'm looking for good blacks I guess. I'm used to plasma so a bright image isn't really important but doesn't OLED deliver on both supposedly lol. I'm sure by the time I pull the trigger 8k will be the norm.LMAO

Me too. I had to read the title again after reading your comment, because I thought this was an 85". I guess it's because the model is QN85 🤔

I was also...can't justify added cost for the QN90 considering same panel in the 85" TVs. I gave up, made an offer on verdetoe for $2900 today and it was accepted. Not bad.
How did you do that?
Btw what was rtings for the one you bought?

I have an edu email account that I used to sign up, but apart from that i don't think it required any additional verification.

Best price currently at verdetoe for the 85" is

Now Price:
$2,869.00

Holding out with a 75" q80a until a better deal pops up. $2k-2.25k would be the sweat spot for retailers.

I am torn on this (or the 90) vs an LG OLED for a bright room with a wall of windows to the south. I also would like the four HDMI 2.1 ports on the LG vs just one on these Samsungs. Anyone have advice?

QLed for bright rooms, oled maybe too dim but shine in dark environments.
