Supposedly the fibers on tennis balls are very abrasive, and if your dog chews them a lot could lead to teeth and/or gum issues. I am no expert.

The tennis balls for dogs are supposed to be non abrasive and non toxic natural rubber, used only for fetch. If a dog chews them they will fall apart within minutes.

No, they are a choking hazard that can cause death. They also wear out a dogs teeth. Google both of those things.

agreed.I have spent more than a fortune on dog toys, and this is the only one that he hasn't ripped it into pieces or eaten.

My GSD can't. At least for more than 5 minutes. These chuckits are worth spending a few extra bucks on.

Not really a deal, been hoovering at this price for quite sometime. Just checked my order, last time I ordered it's actually 3 cents cheaper. So if you are not in a rush you don't need to hoard them.

My dog actually was able to chew some of them open along the "seam" but I probably should have taught him this isn't his chew toy. Still these are definitely the tougher balls, a regular tennis ball won't last an afternoon with my dog..

One annoying thing I've noticed with these balls is that they all have a tiny pressure release hole, presumably to prevent the ball from exploding under high pressure. But I personal don't like to see this in a ball I intended to use in the water. It does allow water into the ball, but not enough that it's at risk of sinking.

I bought these the last time Amazon dumped the price and only received one. Had to go through the hassle of contacting Amazon, so be aware.

This is the normal price on Amazon for the last 2 months.

Yup.

These things are well worth the $. They hold up through weather and heavy use. My dog destroys regular tennis balls and she's not even a heavy chewer.

Sidenote: the glow in the dark version is great too and makes a whistling sound when it flies through the air. They're built a bit differently though so they don't throw the same.
