Flame retardant! Really I would hope that there isn't a fire while the child is stuck in the car seat
They rely on other means to suppress fire such as using merino wool, which is naturally fire resistant. It has to do with new safety regulations around fire prevention that were implemented in I think the 80s, which led to the use of chemical fire retardants in baby clothes. Then they discovered these chemicals were being absorbed in babies' skin and causing health issues so that's why some brands started trying to phase out these retardants.

Nice deal. Any idea on how often do these go on sale? Wondering if it's worth grabbing now even though we won't need it for another 4 month or so.
I would guess the next sale would probably be during their anniversary sale, which happens in July. Could be sooner but I don't know how much you want to chance it. It is Nordstrom so you could always buy it, leave it unopened (stores can't resell opened baby items) then if they have a sale within 4 months, you could always rebuy and return the old one?

It's usually on sale 1-2 times per year, one around Christmas and one around anniversary sale. Anniversary sale won't take place until July/Aug. If you need it in 4 months, I'd recommend buy now.
