Not sure why you are having issues on your phone but seems to work fine for myself. Been solid for years.

3/4 or more of the Fill In passwords do not work. They never responded to my complaints. I absolutely do know what I am doing. Hang around. You'll hear the same. They are NOT solid at all. No idea what you use it for. Go ahead and list your phone apps where it works.

* 1Password is the absolute gold standard for Mac, PC or and has decent support. I can't stand the company (AgileBits). There is (understandably) a lot of hate for AgileBits because they moved customers (like me) to subscription and using Electron in V8 of 1PW. I am actually enjoying V8 on Windows & PC more than I did v7!
* BitWarden is the current favorite by most LastPass / 1PW defectors. It's good but mobile experience is suboptimal and desktop client is OK.
* LastPass steaming garbage, Crappy company. Avoid
* Enpass - bleh
* Everything else - double bleh

Samsung S20 and S9 fully updated. Ipad last gen. Plus desktop use with Firefox and chrome browsers. No real issues. A few sites don't play nice with auto fill but easily rectified with the extension options available. Minor inconvenience at best. I guess we will chalk it up to ymmv.
I've used a variety of password managers and like the functionality of Lastpass. Kind of a pain when they neutered the free version and only allowed it on either phones or desktops but I'm okay with spending some money on a password manager. Bitwarden is similar but since the family is in and likes lastpass I'm okay with that.
It did have a nice feature to segregate work and personal passwords too.
