I own this monitor. And while it is excellent, I think this sale price should really be the everyday price. $480 is absurd.

On a side note, if you do end up purchasing this monitor there have been many online complaints about the brightness and that is because Samsung defaults one of the settings to Eco mode and it's buried and hard to find.

Absolutely. I'd consider it higher end for that purpose.

Is this the same as this one?

Seems like both are 27inch IPS monitor but one has a speaker and one doesn't.
They are the same monitor and there are 100% NO built-in speakers.

Ok, I have to share this one but as I read your comment and got a different Samsung monitor a couple of weeks ago (LS34A650UXNXGO) and I was also disappointed about the brightness in it, I had to look for it and sure enough, that was a hidden Eco Mode On as well. Thanks for unintentionally fixing my monitor 😊

27" and 4k is tough. It's too tiny to see text unless you scale it. 27 should be 1440p and 4k should be 32". I have a 27" 4k and man it is tough to read slack and websites unless I scale it.

I have gone through several 4k monitors at all sizes, and find 28" 4k to be the sweet spot, for non-scaled native display use.
Not sure how much off 27" would be. But when having a choice I'd say go for 28" instead.

I did/do have 32" 4k monitor but now have 3 28" IPS 4k monitors and consider the right size, considering the tradeoffs.

I can easily see some people choosing 32" or even 43" for all kinds of reasons, but I still think 28" 4k is where it's at.

This is the exact reason to avoid a 27 inches and 4K combination.

1800R curved 40" is perfect for 4k without scaling. 34" is the minimum. That's my conclusion after going through around 5 4k monitors since 2017 and my vision is 20/20.

What would you suggest for 3 * 4K in portrait mode side by side on a work desk about 2 feet from my face when typing ?

I think this monitor is worth it. It is perfect for light gaming and office work. If you're not a competitive fps gamer and play single player games, this will be more than good enough. I'd rather scale down for my office work and have 4k when I play games. It also has USB type-c input which is why I bought it.
