Consider the "Open-Box Excellent" for even bigger discount.
I recently bought the Lenovo Yoga 9i 14" last week.. opted for an "Open-Box Excellent" for several hundred cheaper, and it arrived in a fully sealed, seemingly new packaging! Warranty only had 9 months left, but I was able to contact Lenovo via website. I uploaded my BestBuy invoice which clearly labeled my device as open box, and they reset warranty to full 1 year from my invoice date.
I will refuse to buy a Lenovo until it fixes the infamous hinge issue that plagues many of its laptop lines (with ThinkPad being the sole exception).
same. my yoga (2019 model) right side hinge broke away from the casing. its mounted to the plastic frame with plastic rivets. it's junk. so i whipped up epoxy and filled it in. Yea, it worked, i can close my lid again, but now the WIFI doesnt work unless i sqeeze on that area. so not only the hinge broke, it took the wifi with it. and now i cant fix it, because its a big ball of epoxy right there.
cant even sell it now :/

I believe the hinge issue is only on Flex models and not on Yoga. Is there a way to get the i5 version to $550 ?
I think you're correct. I missed a sale on a 'Flex' two years ago, and ended up spending more (about $850 total) on a Yoga series 2-in-1. It has been rock solid and has no issues, hinge or otherwise.
Make sure to buy 3 years warranty. My Yoga 7 motherboard died a few days after one year date of purchase. Not everyone's experience may be the same. Overall best laptop i have ever owned.
For a crappy 4-core CPU?!?!?!?!? Why don't we keep upping the label to an i9 lol. Come it's 2022. You may have been able to get away with robbing people with this configuration in 2019 but these days the competition (Ryzen 5600u/5700u/5800u) is simultaneously so much faster, sips less battery and has more cores. It's embarrassing that HP and Intel still sells these to the unsuspecting masses.
