Thumbs up OP.

I'm surprised this isn't blowing up (well Newegg I guess?).

Fast, cheap, TLC, 1665 TBW endurance, seems pretty good?

Not sure, it's a great price especially the 2TB.

what's the reliability of this brand, or more importantly, this model? warranty is the same as the WD Black and XPG Gammix S70 Blade that I have, but the rocket (2TB version) is cheaper by at least $80. is this a case of you get what you pay for? Or is this an actual slick deal?

I've owned the 2TB version since July 2019, no issues. As far as I know Sabrent is still using the OG components unlike the crap ADATA and Samsung have pulled. On its release it was right there with the best of Gen3 nvme drives.

Is this worth replacing a WD SN570 blue (new) 500gb I paid $50 for and installed in a SFF case last month? It's a pain to access, but I don't mind if you guys think it's worth it. I didn't jump on the Amazon deal because it was sold by another seller, but this is direct from Sabrent.

Do you need the extra 500gb? Then yeah, probably.

Not really; I got a 256gb Samsung fit plus to store most of.my movies, but this is a better drive, right? It has the same read/write speeds, as well as DRAM (small amount?), 33% more cache (16gh vs 12gb), but less layers (64) than mine (112). No idea the practicality of any that. I'm not doing anything but productivity and watching videos.

Best NVMe deal I've ever seen, especially the 2TB model. Unfortunately Gen3 makes it incompatible with PS5. But in almost all other use cases, the performance should be largely similar to most Gen4 NVMe.
