Updates until June 2025, the CXI4 the newer model up is until 2028.
Pretty solid deal for Chromebooks as they don't go on sale much because they are a bit of a niche product I think.
This is a good callout - we have an old Asus Chromebox that is still functionally great, but stopped receiving updates years ago. This is important not necessarily for functionality but security.
While it is not a common criteria people look at for devices it should be a primary consideration for chromebooks/boxes (we primarily use them for grandparents/kids who have minimal hardware requirements but tend to use the devices longer).

FYI, I have an older Asus CN60 that I flashed Coreboot firmware to and am running CloudReady (soon to be rebranded as ChromeOS Flex) on - it works pretty much exactly the same as vanilla Chrome and has been auto-updating without issue for several months.

This will probably help me. I didn't think you could flash a Chromebox to CloudReady, and I was just now shopping for a new one each for my dad and mom. I'll try flashing mom's first (she barely uses it), and then my dad's (he uses it daily and can't be without it). you may have just saved me about $300. Thank you!

just for youtube and web uses ive been looking at getting a chromebox.
would the CXI4 mentioned above be a good option? id rather keep it at $300 or less since its just for web (chrome)
