Interesting that you can find this link just Googling for "usps covid tests" but the official government website [covidtests.gov] still says it is not available until tomorrow. Typical. Thanks and repped.

Yes. They are rapid tests, lateral flow tests, that are administered at home and results within 15 minutes.

Oddly, for me and at least one other person, that page says "Order your tests now so you have them when you need them." and has a button to "Order Free At-Home Tests" - the button just leads to the USPS page listed in the OP.

Weird. Wonder why that is. I don't see any link yet on the .gov website. Thanks OP for giving the direct USPS link. I wouldn't have known otherwise.

It isn't displaying an ordering link on the .gov website for some people (shocker), like me. Still shows "Ordering begins January 19." on my end.

The direct link https://special.usps.com/testkits works fine however.

Looks like smartphone browser may not work with offical government website yet(?)
But when go to http://covidtests.gov using Windows Firefox it shows the link to usps order site.
