Interesting that you can find this link just Googling for "usps covid tests" but the official government website [covidtests.gov] still says it is not available until tomorrow. Typical. Thanks and repped.

Yes. They are rapid tests, lateral flow tests, that are administered at home and results within 15 minutes.

Worked for me but I live in a multi family residence.

My neighbors are now trying to order for their units (using obviously the same main address just diff Apt/Fl #s) and the system is kicking them back saying this address has already been used.

If this is intended, it's a huge oversight by the gov for the millions of people who reside in multi family buildings.
Is there a workaround for this? It's so true.

Set of 4 free COVID test kits from USPS. One order per address. USPS says orders start shipping late January. Shipping included.

Considering people who are sick now probably won't have a test in their hands before either fighting it off or being admitted to a hospital, I guess these are intended to be kept for awhile? I hope they have a decent shelf life. I don't have a reason to test at this moment.

Folks - Let the lesser Privileged and the uninsured among the general populace order these kits first. Folks that have Insurance and/or can afford the $50 - please do refrain from ordering these.
Yeah, but you can't find them in stores. Makes your point commendable, but not realistic.

I found this on the from page of Yahoo before coming here. Was nice to get the order in a day early.Anyone who uses THIS to resell the free test deserve Karma for doing it.

Of all the things SDers do this is 1 i do not approve of but i also know some will. So if you're reading this and plan to resell them you deserve whatever you get.

Its not locked. That means someone already placed an order using your address. Any chance you or your family accidentally placed an order just before hand?
Just my wife and I, and I checked with her she wasn't aware it was available. Strange. Not sure what advantage someone would have to registering my address, unless it was an error on their part. I guess either way the tests will show up at my door at some point since its saying my address is registered.
