TS2 IMO. TS1 (which isn't listed here) was a launch title for PS2 and kind of rough. Free Radical was the dev team, consisting of several former Rare devs who split off. They were mostly responsible for Goldeneye 007 and Perfect Dark on the N64.

I like TS2 better because its a major leap from TS1. TS3 was made after Free Radical was acquired by EA, and as with all things EA, it kind of ramps up the cheese factor and seems more "commercial" without a lot of major changes - and some they could've done without.

Still, TS3 isn't really a bad title either. JMO.

Future Perfect is overall more refined, has more content than TS2, and has an actual coherent story with lots of humor. TS2 on the other hand has arguably a better mission structure for repeat playthroughs making the campaign generally more memorable.

Can't go wrong with either but if you're looking to spend lots of time with the game then I'd probably go with Future Perfect just for the massive amounts of different modes and things to do.

Future perfect, I hear, is better. It's the only one I played.

Timesplitters was one of the BEST FPS of the XBOX/ps2/GC generation, IMO, up there with Halo, Unreal and the likes! Just underappreciated because it was the last great FPS to focus on split screen multiplayer in an era that was growing with online shooters like Halo and Socom...they didnt include online until the 3rd entry....if Timesplitters had online play on part 2 i think it wouldve been a bigger name

but man, this series was superior in so many ways...its the spirtual successor to Goldeneye/Perfect Dark..played and felt like it... 4 player splitscreen, up to 16 players LAN, you can play a 16 player match with you and bots, tons of different excellent modes, a freakin map maker, and a hefty roster of unique and comical characters to choose from, this game was insane!! Pretty fun single player campaign as well

I really hope they remake these or else give us a new one
Too bad Timesplitters 1 isnt available, bought these two, have never played them. Didnt realize Timesplitters has some of the same dev team as Goldeneye and Perfect Dark
Apparently it has been patched

Both are great games! Lots of things to do even with only a single player. And local multiplayer is a blast if you can make it happen these days.

Man... these games bring back some memories! There was a point in time that this game gave Goldeneye multiplayer a run for its money each weekend with the fellas.

SO GOOD. If you're even SLIGHTLY considering this. Do it. These games are what cult classics are made of.
