Can order today free 4 sets from USPS
The 5 kit size was pre-announcement. Remember it takes time to trickle down from a logistics perspective.

I'm sure in the coming months there will be 8 packs sold to help folks maximize their private insurance reimbursement. When that happens, expect a price increase of US sold kits to $12 per test which is the max of what most insurance companies will reimburse per kit.

For reference this was only $5 per kit before mid-Jan 2022. Be very skeptical of those who say the $5 per kit cost was due to a negotiation with the Biden administration to cap price at cost.

Here's a fact- while our US rapid tests pricing have more than doubled from $5 to $10 and soon to be $12 each, Europe and Asian countries still continue to pay less than $5 a kit.

For example the Abbott Panbio which is distributed in both Europe and Asia (but not US) costs SGD $4.75/ USD $4 each right now https://www.fairprice.com.sg/prod...k-13201080

Even this Target/ Costco Flowflex is still selling for SGD $4.90/ USD $3.60 each https://www.fairprice.com.sg/prod...k-13210515

The reality is that this is a great time to maximize profits if you are selling anything COVID related in the US market.

Price increase is simple supply and demand. Actually in the US case this is just purely a demand side issue (no issues with supply as there are tons of rapid kits being produced and sold around the world that's why there are no crazy prices in Europe and Asia)
Costco and other retailers should be selling these in multiples of 8 (or at least in even quantities) for monthly insurance reimbursment purposes

Lol. It took me 1 minute to get it online through the government's website . They don't even ask you for your insurance.

Stop spreading misinformation.
USPS will ship the free Covid tests starting late this month
The below is from the email I received after placing order -

Note:
At-home COVID-19 tests will ship free starting in late January. USPS will only send one set of 4 free tests to valid residential addresses. We are unable to process duplicate orders for the same address.

I think he meant wait for delivery. The Costco ones would come faster and if he has insurance it will reimburse him.

I ordered this afternoon. The first email said shipping is in late January and the second one said that delivery is expected tomorrow.

If someone has no symptoms and won't travel (no negative pcr test required) why would they test?
People use them, eg, before larger gatherings. I know some antivaxxers that are required to test frequently for work.
