For anyone unaware, this is the same black Friday advertised set that has been $30 since about mid November. It's a great value set, just be aware this isn't much of a "deal" these days since it's been and will be this price until they sell out for good.

Check this one out. Looks like the sane set plus 4 base plates for $10 more. LEGO Classic Bricks Bricks Plates 11717 Building Toy; Great Gift for Kids; Imaginative, Creative, Educational Play Toy (1504 Pieces) https://www.walmart.com/ip/728689474

Edit: just double checked and it looks like you get 4 pc quarter sized base plates. The four included would equal one regular size. Better off buying the $29 set and a separate regular base plates for $7

No, they are two different sets. But both are good prices.

Anyone have any advice for the best way to get rid of $10k+ worth of legos? Kids just don't care anymore and I see no reason to keep them. Someone told me even used the Death Star is worth like $900?

This is SD…so, you'll probably get something like "$50 shipping kills this deal…"

Recently got 11011. It has too many small pieces. I wish sets had more 2x3, 2x4, 2x6, etc type building blocks.

I wondered if that was the case. Sure looks like there are a lot of small pieces, which is really unfortunate.

Used legos/duplos are generally sold in bulk. The going rate on ebay seems to be around $30 for 1,000 random pieces or around $15 per pound bulk - and many of those items are already washed. Your shipping on a single pound of lego is going to be around ~$5-$8 so that will really cut into any return on your investment if you go that route. Facebook Marketplace is even cheaper at $7-$12 per bulk pound.

If you have full and verified complete sets, with the instructions and original boxes, you can get much more for those specific items (depending on the rarity or desirability - aka your Death Star), but that will again depend on condition, shipping and listing fees, etc. FYI the Lego Death Star (item 10188) has only gone for around $250 recently. Death Star (item 75159) is more desireable and goes around $450+ (you can use ebay or BrinkLink to get an idea of current market value).

If you can sell local face to face it's better for your return (no shipping) but eats up your time.

If you have a tax burden you might be able to donate Lego to a local charity for a tax break.
