Yes the ps4 version can be played on the ps5. It's just not the ps5 remaster of the game.

First game I played when I got my N64 for Christmas one year. Good times haha. I never could get Watto humming the Cantina song out of my head to this day.

I played Catherine on ps now, definitely a unique and fun game. Although the puzzles were very tough. Contemplating if I should get it in digital or get physical. But the price is unbeatable

Unfortunately, no.
You can't even buy the PS5 remaster separately... I would have gladly paid $10 or $15. Right now it's only included in Miles Morales Ultimate Edition.
Or I'm sure you could find it on eBay.
