Just my 2 cents as an adult trying to learn to ride this. Last month I visited my relative who bought a Jetson hoverboard for their kid. I had long been wanting to try it so I got on it in their basement with concrete flooring. I would say that I have a decent balance but learning a whole new way to move does take time as an adult. I made two attempts to ride it for a few minutes but did not gain enough confidence to be comfortable. Then I decided to try it the last time that day and a few seconds on top of it and I fell and injured my wrist. I spent a few days in pain and then an x-ray of the wrist showed I had a small fracture. Have spent over $700 on treatments already. I do not want to discourage anyone from trying this but please try to learn this in an open area and maybe start on something soft like an area rug placed on a solid surface.
I bought the Hover-1 H1 and returned it after 4 days. On acceleration, you could hear a rattling sound. On day 4, it malfunctioned and started spinning uncontrollably and threw my kid off. Luckily he only got a bruise on his foot. It cut my toe when I tried to stop it from spinning. I had to throw a blanket on it.

i just got mine, i would have to say dont buy it. i have a couple razors and they are much better. i guess it would be ok for kids or someone that has never had one but i say save your money and buy a razor. the hover 1 is slower, clunkier in its operation and you really have to tilt it to get any speed and it will thow you off if you tilt too much. maybe i got a dud?

We've got a couple of Jetsons rated at 220#. I'm 205# and the thing is WAY less zippy when I ride compared to my kids at 70-80lbs. They can ride up hills, on short grass, etc. I'm stuck with flat, unbroken tarmac or really smooth sidewalks.
Yeah, basic physics, I know, but these are almost all geared at kids despite the high ratings.
Got this for my son last fall, and he loves it. No reference point to compare it to as it was his first, but worked as of a week ago with no problems. Sadly, I dropped $175 on it then... oh well!

Same thing as I said in the other thread with a similar Hover-1. Went though two of the same ones at $99, and the other one for $79 that's org. $250. All three, out of the box, had separate issues with the gyro and/or motherboards. First use, all three returned. We have the go-kart attachment hanging in the garage because my 9yo still doesn't have a functional hoverboard. If you get one that works, great. Better spend the $10 for the extended warranty as a majority of reviews quit working after a few months still.

I feel like a complete idiot paying way more than this at Best Buy for what i thought was a decent deal on a heavy duty hoverboard. At least my kids are enjoying it. Also it's showing $82.22 for me now still sold & shipped from walmart.com.

However, I had no idea you could buy little go cart seat chassis for these things. My boys would freaking love that.
