Chicory Root is a pretty good source of fiber from what I've read. I wonder what the best natural source of fiber is.

I love gummy vitamins, but two of these gummies only has 3g of fiber. To get a decent 10g serving of fiber, you'd have to eat 7 of them. There's only about 8 of those size servings in the whole bottle.

Also consider that fiber is supposed to be taken with an adequate amount of water. This makes the Metamucil like psyllium husk powders seem like a better idea all around.

Since the idea is to have indigestible fiber hold water and end up in your poop, I doubt there is very much difference between fiber sources outside of personal allergies or digestive issues, but maybe they vary in their water holding capacities.

Psyllium husks are the most popular fiber products.

Do not take more than two of these in a day. If you take more than a few, you may get some bad stomach aches.

For a lot of people, children included... Chicory root causes horrible gas. Fiber One bars are often referred to as "fart bars" due to the excessive amount of chicory fiber in them. Don't ask me how I know

Just eat some veggies instead. 3g of fiber isn't much.

it genuinely isnt much. Men are suggested to take about 30g and women about 25g (some people need more or less). This doesnt include prebiotic fiber to really get the gut flora active.

It's less about what the best source of fiber, and more about consuming fiber at the same meal as consuming other foods, especially other carbs and sugar.

Before man figured out how to extract everything, there weren't many high carb or high sugar plants that weren't also high in fiber. Look at sugar cane. Almost all fiber, hard core fiber even. During most of the existance of man they were eaten together.

These gummies are probably good to eat with sweets, but why not simply accept the apple*?

It's easier than ever to steam brocolli in a microwave and sprinkle light salt** or even a slice of cheese.

Fiber is absolutely essential, yet is preceived by people to be the same as a discard-able an orange rind, and as something only old unhealthy people need. Most peoples diets eliminate fiber. And most foods sold have eliminated fiber.

*an apple (and many fruits) used to not be very sweet. They have been breed to be sweeter and sweeter over the last +100 years to the point they a sweet-tooth style dessert full of vitamins and fiber. Juicing fruit is a crime as a daily diet. Takes out all the fiber and leaves a high quality sugar fluid. Would be a better turned in to a decidant sauce than a full sized drink, much better than sugared soda i guess. That's not saying much.

**Not only does the body need a little salt, many flavors can not be tasted without the presence of salt, hence why unsalted fries taste like something completely different and awful.

I'm nervous getting any type of medicine or supplement on Amazon. How do we know it isn't a cheap Chinese fake?
