Multiple devices and types of ZWave / Zigbee switches, plugs, and sensors.

One of the best deals on the page - $18.95 + shipping under $100.
I own several of these and they work very very well:

Good deals there. Zooz is becoming my favorite Smarthome brand and TheSmartestHouse is pretty reliable as well. I live about 30 minutes from them and always get my shipments the next day.
The difference is with how the 3 way is wired. I experienced this with the 72. If the remote switch is all hot, you need 77.

the location where the 77 will be needs neutral and that is the only additional wiring needed. the remote switch wiring remains same.

zooz is an excellent company. they answered support over weekend. When it was known I needed the 77, they said wait for the sale.

Great people make a great company.

So the battery powered switch looks cool to avoid cutting a whole in the wall. Question though, what is needed at the ceiling light to allow it to be controlled by the wireless switch?
It won't actually power something that's already smart currently. You'd need an in wall switch to power that fixture already. The remote switch is used to control other already smart items in your home. Ie im going to put this remote switch on the top of my stairs and program the down button single press to turn off all lights downstairs (will turn off anything smart I program it to turn off) and lock all of my smart door locks

Thanks for that. I kinda get that, thats why i wanted to know...say ibhave a light that has co stant power....or better yet...and outlet that has co stant power. Is there a relay i can connect to the outlet, behind it, to make it smart to be able to turn on or off with this wireless switch.

Thanks, in for zooz water sensor and valve actuator. Been meaning to pull the trigger on that for a while.

I have had terrible luck with GE switches failing lately from power outages (common problem others mentioned). Ended up switching to TP-Link kasa ones and honestly they work great for the price, have been solid with no issues whatsoever. Timing is everything, maybe would have went the zooz route.

If you want to use the remote switch, you'll have to A. Make the switch to the light a smart one B. Always have power to the switch and put in a smart light.

If it's an outlet you're needing then you'll either need a smart plug or buy and wire in a smart outlet

I just got some Kasa and you're right about them being great for the price until you get into a 3 way switch and that's where these Zooz shine

The ZEN34 isn't really a switch per se, it's just a Zwave remote. You can use it to trigger scenes, automations, or control another relay/switch. In any case you would need a smart light switch, bulb, or relay that could be triggered by the ZEN34 in order to use it.

For example, buy a smart light (ie philips hue) and put it in your fixture. Turn the fixture switch on. Connect the battery powered remote to your Zwave hub. Program your Zwave hub so that when you hit the up paddle, your Hue bulb lights up and when you hit down paddle, it turns off. As long as nobody touches the fixture light, you'll be good.

There are other ways to do it, too, as others have mentioned.

I like how it looks like a real switch. Does it actually have to go into a switch box? I have those signee ones from ikea, but they don't look like switches

No, you can essentially tape this to anywhere. I have it on the side of my bedframe primarily to control the hue bulb on the nightstand.

Zooz is such a quality brand backed by the best service around. I'll say it on every Zooz post - they respond to questions/issues with quick, smart responses. I thought I had a defective unit (smart power strip) until they troubleshooted and asked for the model number of every device plugged in. They found that I was overloading the device with my TV. Took their advice to remove the TV from the power strip and everything worked fine. Their troubleshooting saved both of us time and money.
You are lucky.

Every time I see an Zooz offer, I can see my failed Zooz z-wave 15amp powerstrip next to my "to be salvaged bin". Contacted Zooz customer services to find out that I should have check with them to see if a specific types of hardware can be plugged-in and covered under warranty. Apparently a 4-port switch that uses 25W and 1amp is NOT acceptable. A laptop is OK if not on all the time. But a fan, TV, or a lamp is OK. You have to contact Zooz to see if your product is blessed. So I'm not covered under warranty. I wish I was kidding.

I was hoping to build out using more Zooz products. Even bought a Zooz relay switch. But now need to reconsider using it in important places. I've lost trust in Zooz products and customer service.
Any other suggested vendor?

Would love to stay with zwave/zigbee, but it is hard to compete against the WIFI devices.

I just did this for a closet.

Get the Zen 51 relay, cap s1, wire the rest as directed in the instructions. Use the button on the relay to pair it to your hub or home assistant, do the same for your zen 34. You can use s2 mode while pairing for greater security and less overhead (use the included security card or read the code from the relay or remote switch to pair).

Then set up an automation to associate a tap up or down with turning the relay on and off.

Zooz doesn't technically *want* you doing this since some areas require a physical switch to be hooked up to a light for code reasons, but it does work.

I think the ZEN51/52 relays are a fairly recent additions. As TimTam said, just remember that many locations require an easily-accessible junction box or wall mounted switch to be up to code.

Zooz makes quite a few CYA statements to avoid conflicts with common issues, code, and common sense, since an uninformed homeowner + electricity = bad times.
