The "Online Savings" mailer has just been sent out. I know this isn't the in-club mailer so apologies if that disappoints anyone (that should be arriving soon I assume). Images are attached but you can also find them at the Imgur link below.
How is the quality of furniture from Costco, like those sectionals and couches? Anyone has any experience?
online can be very hit or miss. delivery issues, quality control issues, etc. you have better luck in-store but you're limited to the selection on hand. still better quality than rooms to garbage.
I saw an article[businessinsider.com] today that says the average Costco shopper earns $125K a year. Can you believe that? I feel like I don't belong at Costco now among all the rich people.
Makes sense , $60 a year just to shop and the average outing of stuff costs $200+
Thanks for the input, I've had really bad experience with Macys in the past, total garbage "italian" furniture sold by Macys made by a company in Cleveland some place, the springs popped off and they said extended warranty won't apply, it's only for fabric, then they said they would be happy to fix and return it if I ship it to them... Horrible service and it wasn't cheap. We put it out on sidewalk in less than 3 years.
I got recliners (Cindy Crawford line) from Raymour and Flanigan, really comfortable stuff, but I think after 4 years or so fabric started looking really old, reclining motor is giving out, it's stuttering or stopping halfway sometimes.. While the sofas I got from another imported furniture store at the same time (some european brand) still looks brand new, I got the sofas because fabric matched. The sofas weigh like 300lbs, they are crazy heavy. The store doesn't sell recliners or sectionals so I thought I'd consider Costco and I definitley will next time.
Macys screwed up our dining table which we ordered in November and still they are delivering delivering delivering …. But not completed yet. Keep pushing my date 3 weeks every time.

From my experience, Costco locations are more in high/very high cost of living areas so that $125k is not rich at all. It's the equivalent of making half that in low/middle cost areas without Costco.
Agree. I bought appliance and furnitures for my new house on costco site. Super easy to schedule delivery date or reschedule. The white gloves diverery is top notch. Nice and professional bases on my experience.
My experience was opposite. I bought the sectional last year which included white glove delivery and set up. I had to reschedule the appointment 4 times due to no-show. They didn't even inform me that they won't be able to make it. Finally when they delivered, delivery guy asked me to schedule another appointment for setup which was another week and half. Costco credited me 50$/missed appointment though which worked out great 😊. If you Google, you'll see tons of similar experience people had for appliance and furniture delivery.
Haha. 125 is the start of the middle class bracket. Believe it or not
Depends on where you live and if you have kids. With a family of 4, 125k household income in North Jersey is pretty tough, especially if both parents are working. Not saying 125k is a bad income, but I wouldn't call that middle class if you are in the situation mentioned above.

I agree. Costco furniture itself is good. The delivery and installation is handled by 3rd party and it's a hit and miss. When I got a my sectional, it was poorly and incorrectly assembled. I had to do take it apart and do it myself. It was an easy process and didn't warrant a call to Costco. I had really bad experience with their appliance delivery. The guys dragged the washing machine across my wooden floor on this thin cardboard. Needless to say, I have some big scratches/dents. Not happy, but the guys was very apologetic and so we tipped for effort.
