This battery pack, like the official Play and Charge, don't need you to remove the battery pack and can charge using the USB port on the controller. Most 3rd party packs don't allow that (they use external pins and custom docks). Standard rechargeable batteries also need to be swapped out so are also less convenient for most uses.

For a price perspective a person can get about 6 eneloop (one of the top rated rechargeable batteries) AA batteries for $10. That would be the equivalent of 3 of this single battery, and those AA can be used in anything that takes AA where as this battery is limited to just the Xbox controller.

Every single third party recharge pack allows for a charge through the controller... just takes a while
Thanks, I corrected my incorrect statement about the dock batteries. I still prefer this, as Insignia is a fairly reliable brand for accessories (see Nintendo Switch dock debacle, where Insignia brand was the only functioning 3rd party dock), quality and price are right. This pack fits under the battery cover so don't need to swap out covers or have mismatched colors. I like that it charges over the controller's USB.

I bought a couple extra to go with the white Series X controllers that were on sale last month. Plan on gifting those to kids friends who use touch controls when playing Minecraft or Roblox.

Not Li-On, but the price is good for a battery pack that actually fits inside the controller and doesn't need a special battery cover.

Rechargeable eneloop batteries are $2.50 each. Wouldnt it be easier and more flexible to buy them instead?

I got tired of having to keep swapping batteries. Sure, it's cheaper, and doesn't take long, but i also value convenience. And i got sick of having to baby sit my batteries or have them go out mid game because i forgot to swap it. Not going to cry over a few dollars how cheap eneloops are etc... for my use case i am perfectly happy. I am just done with swapping batteries.

I got the official play and charge kit when i got my series X and this magnetic USB cable set in amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

I used a micro usb tip for my Steel Series 9x headset and also put a USB-C tip in the controller and a lightning tip for my apple tv remote and put to use a old 2 port wall charger (i have the 2 cables i use for the controller and headset plugged in here). Love this set up. No fuss. Just works. May just get this pack so i can also put one inside my older Xbox One controller i still use for my pc gaming. Still got extra cables and the adapters.

I always place my controller and headset back under my av stand when i am done playing, so my battery is NEVER dead. The magnet tips are just icing on the cake. Just raise the wire close it and it just connects. Once in a while, then i am using my devices, i would just connect the apple tv remote to any of the cables to charge it.

The best I can find Eneloops is 8 for $18. Where is this 6 AA eneloops for $10?

Yea but it's easier to just plug USB C into controller and charge ——VS——remove cap, remove batteries, remove charged batteries from charger, plug dead batteries into charger, insert charged batteries into controller, put battery cap back on.

BB turns off point banking without telling me, issues me two $5 certs that I can't use on gift cards, so I tried to buy this POS and it's 0.01 shy of ten bucks so I can't use both certs.

Any fillers? Can't even donate to St. Jude.

FU Best Buy!
