Plenty of people use Mr heater in a tent, just make sure you take a Carbon Monoxide Detector and I would keep it placed off the tent with a wood board or something that won't melt or catch fire easily.

Amazon has a ton of adapter hoses in varying lengths. For example, I recently bought this 5' hose for our Buddy heater. https://smile.amazon.co
The other thing that may be a difference between this one is that the instructions says this is "infinitely adjustable" most likely meaning you can adjust the propane output as needed for heat. With the big Buddy, you just get high/medium/low and there are no adjustments. One thing to also not is that with the Big Buddy heaters that low/'medium only use the left heater panel. The right heat panel only turns on when on the high setting. Not a big deal, but I assume that might lead to long term wear on the single panel.
I also use these heaters to heat a small cabin that I have all winter long with no issues. I either refill small 1lb oropane tanks or run off a larger 20lb tank with a hose adapter. I do have carbon monoxide and smoke alarms just in case but had never had an issue.
I may buy one of those Dyna GLO just for the heck of it to compare. I have been so impressed with the Buddy heaters though… Why change now?
With adjustable setting and high rating at 18k BTU, looks like a better deal than the $75 heater at Costco…

There's battalions of lawyers out there trolling "to help" the directionless.

For outdoors, consider your use case. Might be better to get an outdoor fire bowl instead. Those have 28k-35k btu. This would be great for portability and efficiency though (fire bowls burn less efficiently - more yellow flame, less blue) .
Given benefit it has 3 panels to pump out heat & takes no time at all to toast up that side of the house

If you run this full blast you will be draining the pounders, I use this item to refill pounder canisters off of a 20lb grill-type tank.: https://www.amazon.com/Mr-Heater-...54&sr=8-12 I do refill outside and use hemostats to open the relief valve be careful of the liquid propane. when it sprays it will freeze your skin. wear gloves.
It makes it economical to use these little heaters. I use mine in a garage -GASP!- and risk my life every time I do.
