That doesn't fix the problem he addressed. The issue is that a 1lbs. tank doesn't last through the night, so you have to get up in the middle of the night and mess with relighting the heater. A 5lbs. or 20lbs. tank fixes that.
Just a heads up, I use a Mr. Buddy heater but if you use these in a tent or van then monitor for Carbon Monoxide. They can also cause condensation due to the propane.
Almost exactly the same as the big buddy. I bought this last year to keep a 10p tent warm for the kids. My wife and I were so hot we slept on top of our sleeping bags, kids were toasty and night temps were mid 40s.
Biggest thing I would note is that this isn't super practical with the 1lb tanks, you'll run out fast. Better to use a 20lb tank (less portable I know... but if your buying this then portability probanly isn't your #1 concern) as it will last 2-3 nights on high. You will need to buy a special hose for the 20lb tank though. Either you get a normal hose with a filter (these were oos everywhere last year) OR Mr buddy makes one that doesn't require the filter as it's specifically with materials that won't leech and clog the heater (SKU: F273704) https://www.mrheater.com/10ft-bud...embly.html

Is this anything like a mr. buddy heater? Just as safe?
Any combustion reaction has the possibility of creating carbon monoxide--which is that colorless odorless gas that can kill you in surprisingly low concentrations. Therefore you must have a carbon monoxide sensor if you're using this in confined areas; such as a garage, tent, or trailer.
They can be had on the cheap and can/will save your life.
If you are looking for something for camping / overlanding Buddy Heaters or any propane heaters put off h20 as a byproduct. You wind up with moisture all in the tent. And you have an open flame. (Melted my tent with one a few years ago) You much are better off getting a Chinese Diesel Heater. (Yeah that is what they are actually known as) They are safe and out dry heat.
If you are looking for something for camping / overlanding - get a Chinese Diesel Heater. These buddy heaters are OK in a pinch but there are better and safer options.

Or just refill the small tanks with the larger ones.

Just buy the buddy heater at Walmart for 74$ . It only 5$ different.
Point understood, but the Mr. Buddy suggested at $74 is the 9k BTU model vs this Dyna-Glo 18K BTU model. That being said, there sure are a lot of 1 star reviews for the Dyna-Glo model.
