Unless the design or material changed from last year, all 3 of our mechanism that let's you adjust angle broke in under a year. It just plastic pin sitting against plastic half hear and the pins break off. One still has them on barely and it won't hold itself up.

Can second this. Mine swivels non stop. I have to wear it upside down to keep it pointing straight otherwise it falls straight down pointing to my feet 😂

That being said you can buy the 3 and crazy glue them all in a different position and wear the one you need for a job

Considering these are 550 lumens, come with 9 Duracell Alkaline batteries that are arguable worth about $5 alone, and are shipped by Costco for free, I think this is a pretty damn good deal. The type of headlamps you can get at places like Lowes or HD for around $10 are mostly junk... definitely not 550 lumens, and these come out to less than $5 per headlamp.

I recommend keeping one in the car, as it's so much easier doing anything at night when you have one of these. Also, if you have a bunch of rechargeable AAA batteries, or you bought that 24 pack of Tenergy batteries for $13.59 on the other posted deal... these are a good place to use some of those 56 cents a piece NiMH batteries.

Good deal OP... my bad, wouldn't have guessed anyone else had found or posted these headlights. Definitely a good deal at $5 per light given the output. As mentioned, above, I recommend using NiMH batts in these as a) it makes them rechargeable, b) NiMH are more powerful than most alkaline and thereby they'll be even brighter with NiMH batts, and c) NiMH don't corrode like Alkaline batts when you store them for long periods of time.

Thumps up!

I got these the last time they were on sale. I've had others, the generic kinds from amazon as well. The straps were good on the ones from amazon but the light itself didn't last all that long.

These Duracells are nice and bright when you turn on all the lights but the way the straps work on these, the plastic butts right against the forehead and they leave an indentation on my forehead. I can keep these on for around 20 mins before they become uncomfortable.

At $5 for each, I would say get these as they are cheap enough and good enough for quick task. But, if you need anything for an hour or two, you may need to consider other lighting solutions.

Got a bunch of these from Costco sales, and I agree. I love the light, these are super-bright and an amazing deal for the price. Unfortunately the tilt/adjustment thingy they have does break. It broke in only one of my lights so far, and it still kind of holds the light, but I can see it breaking in other ones eventually as well (especially judging from other comments in the thread).

It's still a great deal, and the lights themselves are amazing. If you are handy, you can probably make the swivel work. Worst case scenario you could probably glue them in a fixed position. I'd probably buy some if I didn't already have like 12 of them.

Also $14.97 means Costco is discontinuing them (anything that ends with .97). My guess would be that the tilting mechanism is the reason why those are being discontinued.

The only other negative (besides the weak tilting mechanism) is the fact that you can't switch to red leds without cycling through bright white ones. There is no memory (last light mode memory) in this model.

So.... from reading all the negative comments is one to assume you were turned down for returning a junk product at the store?

These are pretty good for the price.

If you use these for an extended period of time(10-15mins), they do start to dim on you. I'll guess about 25-50% less bright. At first, I thought it was my eyes adjusting to the light but it wasn't. When you shut down the light and cycle through, you can see how bright it wad actually.

All 3 of them do this with fresh batteries. I tried using Energizer Lithium with them thinking they'll help but nope.

Good reasoning with $5 value worth. I'd argue $4, but I'm a stickler.

I differ on he NiMH suggestion. Those batteries only stay charged for a month or two when not being used. When I need a headlamp I need a headlamp, I can't stop and charge batteries for hours first. Disposables last years, and if I'm using disposables that did die and need to use headlamp now, I just pop in 2 new disposables.

For someone who used headlamps every day I'd agree with the NiMH advice.

They make NiMHs with low self discharge nowadays that stay charged for a long time. A big advantage is that NiMH will not leak or corrode in a hot glove compartment like alkalines often do.
