Anyone know if there are any limitations (controller-based or thermally) when using both Thunderbolt 4 at once? Would love to have an eGPU on one port and a filled-to-the-brim Thunderbolt dock on the other and ditch my gaming desktop + poor thermals Vostro 7500 for this and a GPU enclosure.

"in ware house" means you go to Costco store and ask if it is in the warehouse?

Probably saw it on display at Costco so it means the store had stock but maybe YMMV?

Do you buy it online or go to in-store? My card is a mastercard so cannot be used in-store, not sure if there is any difference between order on-line and in store?

It's the same price in store, except for the $10 shipping. The 15.6" is $550, not this one.

Can anyone tell me if this is enough for CEMU with Breath of the Wild?
based on my experience with BotW on CEMU I think it's probably enough for 30fps on openGL but not enough for 60fps. Ideally for 60fps you connect this to an external GPU enclosure and use vulkan settings

Going to Costco soon to buy a labtop and I am looking at this or the 2020 Macbook air on sale at costco for 850. Anyone have practical experience with both models? I don't mind the cost difference too much b/c I tend to use my electronics for a pretty long time. I still have a 1080p HD TV for example.

Of course not, but if cheaper at another warehouse in this area, I'll just return and rebuy at the cheaper location.
That poster is mistaken. This is a published price on their hot buys flyer not some sort of regional or warehouse level deals.

Better processor, build quality
NO HP ENVY.. the white/silver keyboard is no good to use. I am using one of HP ENVY. FAN Noise is very bad. it keeps on running if you use performance mode.

keyboard is useless unless you keep it at certain angle. night time useless completely.

I strongly recommend move away from any keyboard which is NOT Black colored, whatever price, config etc.. its useless.

I believe so.. it's been a while. You still get ONE additional year of warranty as per Costco but nothing from Citi card anymore. to my knowledge. Please update if you find it otherwise....

The build quality of this laptop isn't that great. Lots of creaks and flexure when using/handling this according to reviews.
Certainly not up to the level of surface products.
I beg to differ. I would have pulled the trigger but just bought the 5510 (i5 11300H) open box at microcenter. Build quality is better than I thought it would be, screen is brighter than I thought it would be and it is faster than I thought it would be. Good luck trying to find a 16:10 in this price range. I really wanted that ratio, but its not worth the extra $ over the open box deal.

If it's the 15.6, then likely 1080/ 16:9. The 13" has the 16:10. I think you have to go up in resolution to get the 15.6 in 16:10, ie 2560x1600 which is substantially more $.

Not specific to this deal, answering the question that was asked. Skip if you are looking for information about this deal specifically.

In general the choice between a MacBook Air and Windows PCs are more about choosing your ecosystem instead of the actual device. Both can be great for what they are better suited for and either works fine for light duty work

I use PCs, a lot of the software I use works better on PCs or is not available on Mac's unless you use an emulator. My parents use MacBooks and I am thrilled they do. I am their remote tech support and when they used PCs that took a fair amount of time. On their MacBooks, I occasionally change a few settings or teach them how to do something when I am visiting on holidays but it is rare that there is a problem, such as setting up a printer, that needs immediate attention.

The MacBook Airs are great devices for personal usage and for some business applications. The MacBooks also will interface better with Apple products such as iPhones, watches, and ear buds.

PCs are much more prevalent in the business and gaming worlds. PCs are also available at a better cost/ performance ratio if you don't include your time supporting windows.

If price is not an issue you could also consider a Surface, Samsung or other higher end brand. I have used ThinkPads for years and have been satisfied. I can usually find one on sale for a good price within a month or two of when I start looking. It is harder to find a great sale in models like the X1 carbon and you are still looking at a premium price but the quality is still good on that model.

*I am not a fan of all Lenovo products. But, so far they have kept the quality good on the ThinkPads I have owned.
