Here, I will do your homework for you, but you owe me a coffee.
https://www.costco.com/concierge-...ranty.html

Buy a TV, computer, major appliance or water heater and Costco extends the warranty coverage to 2 YEARS

Purchase with your Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi and extend your warranty* coverage for an additional 2 YEARS.

You need to do the math though, and show your work for credit.

specifically went to costco to check this out. only cons IMO are following: the screen wobble is intense so if you like using laptops in your lap, expect a fair amount of screen movement when typing. the touchpad is really small and feels too plasticky. this model is known for a less than stellar touchpad and that was evident in the little time i spent with it. The fan vents are pointing towards the screen which is a weird design decision. but on a good note, screen is nice, 16:10. end to end keyboard is really nice! and it's really lightweight. I/O at this price is solid too. all in all, the price is fantastic for what you get but i couldn't bite cause of the weak trackpad and screen wobble

I believe so.. it's been a while. You still get ONE additional year of warranty as per Costco but nothing from Citi card anymore. to my knowledge. Please update if you find it otherwise....
Citi is still offering two years extended warranty if you make a purchase with the Costco Citi card. You get four years of warranty if you use the Costco Citi card.

LIke I said, you have to use your COSTO CITIBANK. That card adds +2 years to the costco original 2 year, for a total of 4. All costco computers are like that. Happy shopping, I only buy computers at costco.
Does Citibank adds drops and spills Or what is the difference between the Squaretrade/Allstate extended warrantee and this one. the second one covers drops and spills

Can anyone recommend a good docking station for this?
I'm just using two 1440p monitors, mouse, and keyboard.
I see one below for $50 at Costco, but not sure what would work best with this laptop.

Why would one want a non standard 1920x1200 resolution? Just to get a little more screen real estate? Honest question, not trolling.

I found the screen very wobbly, to the extent I didn't bite. I'm still considering though!
wobbly when on a table or on your lap. Also did you compare the so called wobbliness to other laptops of the same size and weight?

I assume that weight and wobbliness go in opposite directions. The more stability, the more is the weight and vice versa.

Going to Costco soon to buy a labtop and I am looking at this or the 2020 Macbook air on sale at costco for 850. Anyone have practical experience with both models? I don't mind the cost difference too much b/c I tend to use my electronics for a pretty long time. I still have a 1080p HD TV for example.
Assuming you are fine with both ecosystems, A Mackbook, would be better because it typically has zero problems and it runs just as fast as Windows laptops with better specs.

It is harder to find a great sale in models like the X1 carbon and you are still looking at a premium price but the quality is still good on that model.
.
what makes the Thinkpad X1 carbon laptop so special relative to other laptops?

It was already explained multiple times. 2 years, plus another 2 years if purchased with costco citi card.

I've used a lot of thin and light laptops, when I tried the Dell in-store I just found the screen wobble distracting, more than any I can remember except maybe the Galaxy Chromebook 1. This may also be due to the keyboard lift on the hinge, which I've also had on other laptops (including an Inspiron 15 2-in-1).
I just found something especially flimsy but I may go back and try again and purchase and I will update if I do!
