Here, I will do your homework for you, but you owe me a coffee.
https://www.costco.com/concierge-...ranty.html

Buy a TV, computer, major appliance or water heater and Costco extends the warranty coverage to 2 YEARS

Purchase with your Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi and extend your warranty* coverage for an additional 2 YEARS.

You need to do the math though, and show your work for credit.

specifically went to costco to check this out. only cons IMO are following: the screen wobble is intense so if you like using laptops in your lap, expect a fair amount of screen movement when typing. the touchpad is really small and feels too plasticky. this model is known for a less than stellar touchpad and that was evident in the little time i spent with it. The fan vents are pointing towards the screen which is a weird design decision. but on a good note, screen is nice, 16:10. end to end keyboard is really nice! and it's really lightweight. I/O at this price is solid too. all in all, the price is fantastic for what you get but i couldn't bite cause of the weak trackpad and screen wobble

I'm new with laptops, can you explain why the LG has better specs? I just bought the Costco Dell one and haven't opened it. Is the LG $100 more valuable? How much faster would it be, and would it be noticeable for casual use and light photo RAW editing?

Can someone confirm that Costco laptops come with a 90-day return? Also want to make sure I can return for a full refund if I open the box, and use the laptop during the 90-day period. Thanks!

You could get the MK825 and connect both mouse and keyboard via bluetooth - it's currently $10 off $55 for $45 - buy it instore and avoid paying $5 shipping fee.

I got this today from the warehouse, but I felt HP Envy 13.3" which I got last month for 650$, is much better when I compared them side by side:
Screen resolution, in-built speakers, Speed Test are way better on HP Envy. I'm going to return the Dell Inspiron.

Thank you. I have the same confusion as MARK1981 as why LG has better specs, could you give us some details?

To those of you who have wondered if Costco still offers an additional extension of two years to the standard warranty the answer is yes and no. Costco offers a one year extension to the manufacturers standard one year warranty so two years in total.

Citibank offers a 24 month warranty extension using any of their branded cards. So if you use a Citibank branded card like the Costco card you will get a additional two years for a total of four years. You don't have to use the Costco Citicard to get the two year extension as any Citicard will do.

What I like about the CitiBank extended warranty program is that in the event of a problem you don't have to deal with the original manufacturer. All you have to do is take it to any licensed repair center and CitiBank's insurance company will pay the bill.

I spent some time looking at both the HP Envy and the Dell in stores. I personally went with the Dell for the following reasons and have been liking it so far:
- $100 cheaper
- 16:10 screen (This is a much more productive screen ratio and the biggest reason to go with the Dell IMHO)
- Gray keys instead of silver ones that blend in with the backlight in the HP.
- Keyboard lift feature that is good for ergonomics (I usually use a stand so if I don't have it, this is a helpful feature).
- Matte screen with less glare (but also looks less bright and with less 'pop' than the HP)

Advantages of the HP
- Touchscreen (I don't need this, but this is the main reason to go with the HP)
- Glossy screen that looks brighter (more 'pop - this can be a positive or a negative)
- Better cooling solution (The Dell vents blow towards the screen, which is a bit odd).

Overall, both have their positives and negatives. At the same price, I MIGHT go with the HP. But for $100 less, and especially with the superior screen ratio, I think the DELL is a better deal, if you don't need a touchscreen!

I was pretty sure that Dell should beat in price and specs but I was wrong. Even I didn't understand the reason for the performance issues on Dell inspiron vs HP Envy. I suggest you to give a side by side comparison in the store on display units, you will understand.

I went with Dell because I had terrible terrible customer support experience with HP. You will need to be in call hours to get to a rep and then they will direct you to a different department which again will put you on hold for hours again!
