I have the intel I7 with RTX 3060 and it has been a great laptop so far. yes very heavy but sturdy built.
If your OS is clean and have no bloatware I think 8GB is enough. I wonder if the 4GB video memory is a part of that pool or separate since this is a discrete GPU. Perhaps someone can chime in since I don't really game on PCs or laptops.

True. 8 GB ram and 256 GB on a gaming laptop where games sometimes take up 100 GB each is a joke.
If you plan to get this laptop for gaming, you must upgrade the RAM to 16GB. If you don't, all of your games will stutter. Even apex legends on low settings kept stuttering until I upgraded the RAM. Afterwards, it held a steady 110+fps on low settings with no stuttering. You can buy 2x8GB 3200mhz laptop RAM for under $60. IMO it is a necessary upgrade. The SSD capacity can also be upgraded, as there are two slots. You'll likely need an SSD thermal cover/plate for it which you can find on ebay for under $8.
Personally, for a similar gaming laptop, I'd get this instead https://outlet.us.dell.com/ARBOnlineSales/Online/SecondaryInventorySearch.aspx?c=us&cs=22&l=en&s=dfh... [dell.com] from dell outlet. It has an 11th gen intel processor which is better for gaming. Also it has double the SSD capacity and has a 3050 TI instead of just a 3050. They currently have a new one for $739 but the coupon others have posted on this thread does not work with it. I still think $739 for the 3050 TI, intel, and double SSD capacity is better than the $683 for the one posted.
TLDR: The screen's brightness and color accuracy are very bad. Worst I've seen in a modern laptop or screen in general.
You'll need to upgrade RAM if you're using this laptop to game.
The link I posted currently has a 3050 TI and an 11th gen intel i5 that is better than the ryzen 5600H CPU for gaming and costs around the same (from dell outlets, but they have some that are in new condition)
Separate, onboard GDDR6. Also, 8gb is NOT enough for Windows gaming. It WILL throttle most games. 4gb VRAM is pretty low, as well, but it may be okay being GDDR6 on low to medium graphics settings at 1080p for most games. Funny how 6 years ago AMD said 4GB of VRAM wasn't enough for modern gaming, yet here AMD and Nvidia are, pushing 4gb cards in both laptops and desktops. I'll be so happy when this chip shortage is over in a few years.
