What a ripoff! I add AAA 24 pack and AA 16 pack (apprx$50) shows FREE SHIPPING

I add the coupon and it adds $10 for shipping.

Every other decent company doesn't use the sale price to qualify for free shipping it should be the price before the coupon is added.

JOKE
Same thing happened to me. It is not worth to pick them up.

What do you normally buy from OfficeDepot for household stuff?
Name brand liquid soap, laundry detergent, cleaning products, paper towels, etc. The prices are usually horrible so PM to Walmart. Or store brand breakroom, cleaning, shipping supplies when it's on sale. Green Mountain K-cup pods go on sale frequently for a decent enough price.

If you bought the bateries and applied the coupon and the price dips below $45 after coupon, then of course you would need a filler to cross the $45 barrier..

If you felf compelled to use the coupon you could buy two of the 24 Pack at $29.09 ea, apply the coupon and that would get you to about $47 out of pocket shipped free. Your rewards are based on the amount paid, so I see little value applying coupons other than reducing the sales tax on about the $10 price differance..

I can see the value of saving the gas and time by going this route if you live in the sticks. If you figgured you were never going to buy anything else but the batteries that are continually on sale, I think there is a reward level after you spend like $450 in one calender year. We useually get a deal on the "Optimum" and regular copertops at least once a month (two different offers). So you could spend $90+ on the batteries for the first 5 months to get to $450 for the calender year, and then you get free shipping on $15 (as I recall) for a year after you hit that $450.. I bought a laptop and had the free shipping for a year, but that must have been 3 or 4 years ago..

Wow, people are still playing this same old rewards game with the Duracells? LOL. I guess if you have cartridges to recycle it might be worth it.

Too bad they don't bring back the "free after rewards" K-cups, case paper, or something better than leaky batteries. But I guess as long as people are still willing to buy these batteries, then OD is going to keep offering it.

Plus I don't see anything these days in the form of "free after rebate" items that one can buy to "change" the rewards into cash.

Whoever told you that gave you bad information. To the extent a 100% back in Rewards offer is paid for with Rewards, it will not earn Rewards. In your example above, you would only earn $7 back in Rewards.

Ah thanks for the info. I shall go back, return the batteries and repurchase them by cash.

Btw, in store they price matched to wal mart. Also prior to going into store, I left the items in my checkout online and didn't purchase them, after an hour I got an email for $15 off of $50 to cash out online. They honored the coupon in store along with the price match and they have 75oz or DAWN on sale for clearance at $6! I added 2x Dawn to my order and got a pack of AAA and AA 24 packs for a total of $37. I got the batteries for $12.58 each after everything was said and done. So if you can go to a local location I would definitely advise you to

Yep, $500 spend within a 12 month period unlocks "VIP" status and free shipping with no minimum purchase for 1 year.

Does this purchase count towards $10 purchase for ink recycling requirements?

Years ago they took $200 in rewards I had accumulated. The batteries are lower than normal quality as well.
When you say they took them from you did you not use them by the expiration date or did they just fraudulently steal them for no good reason?

I've been playing this game for years and have had zero battery leaks. Over the years I've had every brand you can think of leak. The fix is if you are not going to use an item for a long time take the batteries out.

It had to do with the OfficeMax+Office Depot merger. My credits had no expiration and everything was fine after the merger for a while. Then the credits fell off the cards they were on.

This deal come around often, but I find the batteries to be of lower quality than from other stores.
