I started playing this after setting it down 2 years ago (I'm old and lazy) .. after hearing about the sequel I thought I'd pick it back up. Defintely one of the better games I've played as far as gameplay, controls and story. Beautiful graphics and fantastic boss fights, great lore. other games I really like - Returnal, Horizon

Unless you have a good graphics card in your system it's way cheaper to play on PS4 pro . I played it when it came out on the launch PS4 before i got my pro down the road and enjoyed it . On PS4 pro should be great.

What is mid-range? Chances are you'll be basically breaking even between the two. Especially if you have a PS4 Pro, where you can choose between a graphics mode and performance mode. Graphics mode targets 30fps with checkerboard 4K and performance mode is 1080p, targeting 60fps.

This is such a pretty game on PS4, that the only way you're really going to noticeably beat it is if you're playing on very high settings on PC.

However, if you a PS5 DualSense controller, it would still be best played on the mid-range PC, because it actually supports that controller and has haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support.

It's all going to come down to what your priorities are. Personally, this is more worth it, since, on PC, the cheapest this has been is about $37, and if you're playing on a mid-range PC, you're not getting enough out of it to justify the price difference.

Plus PS Pro unlocks performance mode (1080p) and resolution mode (targets 1440-1800).

My son got a PS5 last Christmas and so during the past year we have been going back and playing the popular PS4 titles while we wait for good PS5 content. We just finished Zero Dawn, which is almost 2 years older, but IMO blows this game away in graphics, game play, and mechanics. Playing God of War feels clunky, and makes me feel handcuffed compared to Zero Dawn. I understand that they are two different games, but my point is, don't spend 50$ for this on PC. Buy the 10$ PS version of you can get it.
