A popular Amazon price tracker shows that this set is typically around $44 with an occasional blip down to $38.

$39.97 at Home Depot as well: https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWAL.../303042341

I have been watching this set waiting for it to come down in price. It has been this price for at least the last 6 months.

This is head and shoulders above those, I moved from Craftsman to DeWalt several years ago, no regrets.

It's still at the Costcos near me around the same price I believe. I don't think there is a listing online however.

My opinion is get one of the best you can for your use and ability to get it warrantied. If I have to ship it, I don't want to bother. More locations to replace is better for me. I go with Craftsman because I used to work for Sears and got lots of deals on clearance. Now I can exchange them at Lowe's and Ace, that means I have 4 stores in 10 miles. Harbor Freight and Home Depot are 1 each in two hours. Plus, I'm only a mile from my closest Ace Hardware. I was able to exchange my chrome ratchets for black chrome because they were out of the standard ones. I'm thrilled. I don't use them daily, but I've been happy, as long as build quality is decent enough on the ratchets. I have a few of those, so I have several backups.

Do either of those places check for receipt or anything? I have a couple Craftsman items I need to get replaced. Also have a torque wrench that hasn't been used, but tried to use it yesterday and it just spins. Apparently only 1 year warranty though, so idk if they will help me with that

The torque wrench is pretty much SOL. I have had people buy a new one and exchange the old one, but I couldn't prove it. I was a daily employee for a few years.

Generally, most Craftsman hand tools don't require a receipt, but the Evolv do. You return the whole set for a new set. I don't know if that series is around or if anyone knows the difference. They won't replace bits and taps and dies, only the handle. If you tried your luck, you may get someone who does it. Cashiers and appliance salespeople could do full replacements where I worked, so it was somewhat common that some would slip through. I bet it's worse with other stores, unless they require manager approval. There was a site on Sears website showing the full info. If it says so on the back, you're good.

Last year, I went to Lowe's to try replacing my father's craftsman 3/8" and 1/2" ratchet that he got from Sears. Lowe's wouldn't replace it without a receipt. A young tool rep. was willing to do switch but he spoke to the manager since he wasn't sure how to put the exchange into the sales system. It was the manager that denied the replacement without a receipt.

Pretty sure that's the non-impact rated one. I have a set that looks just like this one too, but it's chrome instead of black.

I live by at least 8 home Depot within 20 minutes. Some 5 minutes away. I could imagine not having them
