This is with bestbuy, so no bill credit involved, it's instant trade in value that deducts from the sale price, and tax is on the deducted selling price too. Don't mislead others.

ATT is $100 cheaper further. $500 for mini and $600 for regular. But trade in values are horrible.

T-Mo is still the best in value overall.

So what's the best play for a new customer seeking two lines while also taking advantage of the BOYD Costco rebates for opening lines?

It is "talk and text" no data - you can chat with TMobile online - wait for them to mail you a SIM card - possibly pay activation fees. For immediate gratification you use a Costco membership and make them find it on their list of plans - that way you might be ordering a Best Buy trade in by the end of today
You may forget, some of Costco may not want help with 20 plan, happen with my local Costco when I do BYOD $300, So other options is open the new account with 20 plan with T-Mobile store.

Open two lines doing BYOD with Costco, then upgrade with Bestbuy.

My sons Xr has some dings on the body and paint chipping. Screen and Back are fine. Would that be eligible for the full trade value?

Did you use the activate the 13s with the 12s Sims or the Sims BB provided? If you used the 12s Sims does your account show the 13s as the current device on those 3 lines? I did this deal y'day and activated using the 12 sim and account detected the 13 as current device... Wondering if there's any correlation between continuing credits to old sim to system detection of current device...
As coolchicagoguy said, it doesn't matter as long as the line remains active on your account, the existing bill credits for that line will continue regardless what phone you're using on that line. TMo will detect the phone and automatically update it on their end but has no impact to the bill credits.

I apologize if this has been asked before - I placed an order for pickup later today (trading in an iPhone XR), and tried to place a second order (trading in an iPhone SE 2nd generation), but received the following message:

Multiple orders found

Sorry, but you have multiple orders to upgrade the same line or phone number. You can cancel your pending orders by logging into your BestBuy.com account

If you have questions or need support regarding your order, please visit Best Buy Support.

Do I need to complete the first trade-in before I can do a second trade-in? In the alternative, is this something that a customer service person simply has to assist with in-person? Or am I limited to one trade in for this particular promotion?

We are on a family plan with 9+ lines, and most of those lines are eligible for an upgrade.
I think the error is pretty clear. 1 active order per line. Either finish the order (pickup and trade-in) or order from a different line. You have 9+ lines.

Active Verizon sim card will start 60 days countdown which will unlock it automatically after that time passes. No need to keep service on if the account the sim belong to is active. For example I borrowed Verizon sim from my brother and just popped it in and restarted the iphone making sure it gets Verizon service before taking it out. 60 days later it was automatically unlocked. He did keep his service so if you use the sim and then that account gets cancelled I'm not sure if that would affect the unlock though.
Great so if my friend inserts his vz sim and all I do is activate once then remove.this starts the 60 day clock, so even if he removes the sim immediately after activation and puts back into his current phone the clock will keep ticking. So after 60 days it should fully unlock? Thanks!

and yes he won't be canceling his service for any time soon.

Any recent success using the ATT unlock method or is that door closed for good now?

Great deal! Was able to upgrade mine and my wife's iPhone 12's for $50+tax each. New phone with no wear and tear, plus helps us hold off on a costly upgrade even longer now. Thanks!

Placed my order yesterday and picked it up. Traded in a Total Wireless iPhone 11 and they didn't check the phone at all, they just wanted the phone reset and wanted the IMEI. Was in and out in a couple mins! YMMV, but if you have a phone with some not so noticeable wear you should be able to trade it in with no issue. They activated the phone without opening it as well.
How did they activate without opening? I ask bec I'm using a friends account and want to use the phone on my business account

The safest unlock is: activate on T-Mobile and after a few days, FB or twitter them to request unlock. Why take the risk with ATT? From all the Best Buy T-Mobile iphone threads, there's only one story about unable to unlock from T-Mobile.

They scanned the phone box and the sim card that was attached

My phones are ready for pick up. Has anyone done this in-store trade in before? What all do they want/need? Just the phone, or the charger and cable or even box? Thanks, just want to have everything when I go there.

I brought the whole box packaging, charger, docs, sim pin and the phone. The Best Buy cell phone employee told me he just needs the phone. He saw the iphone 11 brand new still with the protective screen laminate. He told me to do the honors and peel it off laugh out loud. Then he turned the phone on to check the IMEI. He asked for the phone number and I gave the T mobile account phone number but he was asking for the Best Buy customer phone number. He didn't ask for T mobile account number or Social security #. I didn't bring my mom with me (account holder). I purchased the phone for her, so account holder does not need to be there to pick up the phone.

The BB employee was going to open the phone box to put the sim card for me into the phone to make sure it works. I had commented that I was hoping to just do it myself at home, and another employee told him that it CAN be done by the customer at home. So the employee just printed some documents and had me sign for some stuff and I was on my way. I think, if you wanted to push it, tell them you want to activate the phone yourself at home and need to get going.
