This is with bestbuy, so no bill credit involved, it's instant trade in value that deducts from the sale price, and tax is on the deducted selling price too. Don't mislead others.

ATT is $100 cheaper further. $500 for mini and $600 for regular. But trade in values are horrible.

T-Mo is still the best in value overall.

Do they transfer your service / phone number over to the sim inside the box with the new phone or put it on a new SIM card or does it stay on your old SIM card? The reason why I ask is because my mom and sister are on the same TMobile plan and I'd like to use their plan to get in on this deal, but I'm in a different state and can't go to where they are. Can I just use their account info to get in on this deal but their service stays on their SIM cards? Thanks.

There's no sim inside the box. They give you a new sim. Sometimes they open the box and insert the new sim to activate (and lock) the phone. That is the official flex lock policy. You sometimes get lucky and they just hand you the phone sealed in the box and let you go on your way.

Does your number / service stay on your old sim?

Yes, you can use the old SIM to activate the new phone. The number stays with the old SIM.

Okay, so I actually wanted to activate this on my AT&T plan. So you are saying I am going to be rolling the dice as to whether I'm able to do this?

It was a website purchase, $999 13 pro max 128
$900 my trade in
$99.99+12 dollars taxes
I little thought the deal has just expired but then everyone else was saying there was a deal for the pro max and pro models, waw, I was in shock.

The pro max shows as $999 for AT&T, not T-Mobile. Did you do AT&T?

Yes. Though you can always just use rsim if they lock it.

I haven't had a chance to scroll through all the comments, but I want to trade in a locked TMobile iPhone 12 online. However there's no option for that under "Carrier". There's only ATT, Sprint, Verizon, and Unlocked. Which did people select in my situation? Or is this not available to do online? Thanks so much for the help!

It shows tmobile as an option for me. Try a different browser?

So I'm afraid of running up against the Sunday deadline for this deal, can I use my friend's TMO account to buy the phone, then chat with TMO to get the $20 talk and text plan, and then insert that sim when it is mailed to me? Is there anything that will go wrong in this situation?

The activation is done in store and you get a assigned # in store assuming its a new line, if this is a upgrade then you don't get a new# obviously. The SIM doesnt come with the phone, they give you one upon upgrade/adding line. *FAIR WARNING TO YOU GUYS ON HERE, THE IPHONES ARE NOT SIM LOCKED TO T-MOBILE* They get locked to the first inserted SIM it appears as i just locked on of the iphones to Verizon after inserting a Verizon sim, not it shows "SIM not supported" when i put in a T-mobile SIM they gave me, so I assuming they aren't locked to any carrier.
Thanks for this info, good to know the phone is not locked to any carriers initially! Smilie

Sprint phones @ BB aren't getting the bonus trade in values that TMO is offering there

It's all up to the rep that you get. Some are strict and say they HAVE to activate the line and others don't.

I went about 2 days ago to pick up my 13 mini. I simply asked the Best Buy rep if I could activate it at home and he said 'sure, no problem'. In and out in 5 minutes.

You could tell the rep that it's for your mothers line and she is currently working and you don't want her to lose any service.
If they deny, it's up to you if you want to take a chance. You can always have your mom contact tforce on twitter or Facebook messenger and request an unlock. They usually unlock it with no issues but again, all depends on the reps that you get.
