I have tried this deal three or four times and can never get T-Mobile to create a successful account with me and a phone number. I tried reaching out to Best Buy and they blame T-mobile. I tried T-Mobile and they said they will fix it but charge me 20 or 30 dollars for a SIM and I don't think that will work allowing me to trade in my phone. If anyone has advice or feedback, let me know.

Why does T-mobile account shows this while checking the device unlock status? "Looks like we got our wires crossed." It has been 4 days since it got activated.

Question:
Let's say you have a phone on EIP and want to upgrade.
Will they:

1. Put the trade-in credit towards paying off your existing EIP, and the remainder applied to the new phone, so you can either: pay it off in full or create a new EIP for the rest? Or;
2. Ask you to pay the old phone off in full first, then do the trade-in?

Just trying to get confirmation on a dp someone said earlier about not having to pay off the EIP to do the trade-in.

Thanks!

Have you ever heard that once the phone is unlocked you can use in any countries... if you did then why don't you believe that?

Wait, what?

You don't have to pay off the trade-in phone?
Did you buy the new phone outright? (No installments?)

How did they process the trade-in credits (do they pay off your outstanding payments with it, subtract that credit from the new phone, and then you pay the balance of the new phone, or do they set up new phone installment payments for the amount owed?)

This could be interesting for those who have good credit, want a new phone and are eligible continue doing EIP for the outstanding new phone balance.
They applied the trade credits directly against the cost of the new phone. I bought it outright and didn't do a new EIP

Just curious though, how can they take the trade-in if there's still an amount owing on it?
Won't the trade-inphone get blacklisted because it has an outstanding balance?

If not, and I can just keep making payments on it until it's done, I'm ok with that too.
Just concerned that it will be a hassle if it's not paid off when traded.

Thanks!
