This is with bestbuy, so no bill credit involved, it's instant trade in value that deducts from the sale price, and tax is on the deducted selling price too. Don't mislead others.

ATT is $100 cheaper further. $500 for mini and $600 for regular. But trade in values are horrible.

T-Mo is still the best in value overall.

Did you order and pick up previously on same line? If yes, activate the new sim you got with your purchase. You can activate it right on the order page on bestbuy order details, just click on set up your phone and it will activate the sim after you input your IMEI of the purchased iphone. After, just wait an hr and try to order with same number.

Please note your old sim or previously used sim on this line will be deactivated and now you will need to use this new sim to get service and to receive the text from BestBuy when ordering again. Also, IMEI can be found on your order details, copy and paste if you like when activating the new sim. No need to use the new iPhone, this will just activate the sim card, nothing else.
I first did an online order, but that was cancelled immediately due to payment verification failure

then I did an in-store one, and that sim card already activated long long ago

I used t-force to unlock my iPhone bought 5 days ago, the instruction says to restore backup or insert non tmobile sim. Do I need to really do any of these as phone status changed to "no sim restriction"?

Also, T-force forced me to make additional advance payment for the second month before unlocking. In case I port away my line prior to second month; would tmobile send me final bill and refund of my credit payment or not?
Go to settings. Check what it says next to carrier lock.

My 13 mini is finally unlocked. Picked it up on Thursday and had a bit of an issue with Twitter and phone reps but it went through.

Thank you for your response. Agent told they will send the mobile number details in email. But no emails so far.
Chat agent should be able to tell your t mobile number. I also didn't receive email in number. Once I got number, I went to store and told them to issue me duplicate sim. They were really nice and it was done pretty quick after checking my id without any additional charge. In that way, I don't have to wait for shipment and then go for deal.

I saw the trade-in credit/value in the middle of the process, but it disappeared on the final check out screen. Anyone else?

That happened to me too. I couldn't figure out what was the problem. I had to go in store to make the purchase. Which was a bit more of a hassle since you'd need a phone verification for the purchase (I used an old phone) because I already did the factory reset of the trade in ahead of the time.

This was the best deal for our family at the moment. My son needed a new phone as he was rocking the free Nord 200 from the last deal and that wasn't cutting it. We traded in an SE 2nd gen, got 340 back and used that to get the 13 256gb for 506 out the door. I'm sure others may have had a better deal than that, but it was so easy. We got to keep our plan as is and just upgraded his phone. Good deal. Thanks OP.

Should I still place the order online (to lock the inventory, although the price doesn't reflect the trade-in credit), then go to the store and tell them I have a trade in?

anybody recommend a screen protector and a place to get it applied? I've purchased them and applied myself and then the screen ended up cracking so I want to get it done by an expert but not get ripped off. Thanks.
I started using Spigen Tempered glass screen protector from iphone12, they also have a iphone13 version. Excellent product in terms of protection and display clarity. Very easy to apply using the tray which comes in the pack.
2 pack is around $15 at Amazon, not sure if other retailers also carry it.

Best Buy verification texts from 332211 aren't coming through, and I couldn't get the promotion to apply to the cart like other users have said. Talked to Best Buy support by phone and Tmobile Support. TMobile isn't aware and has no control over this as it's Best Buy's problem. Best Buy agent said they are having trouble accessing the TMobile system with all online and in-store orders. Best Buy is working on it, but no way to tell when will be fixed, but agent said the current promotions at Best Buy apply through Feb 6.

I'm not sure if you want to do that. I made the purchase order online anyway (without the credit) and they couldn't process trade in. So, they had the cancel the order and redo the order. Although, it didn't happen to me. The clerk said sometimes the phone would need to get sent back to apple for some reason and couldn't be resold.

anybody else got fingerprinted when trading in the phone at the store?

Was told it's for the police in case the trade-in phone comes back reported stolen.

Redic...one security breach away from my fingerprints floating around the web
Yes, fingerprinting is standard procedure for smartphone trade-ins at Best Buy, at least for certain locations.

In the initial order confirmation email (subject of "We've received your order, but it's not quite ready!"), it states, "In some locations, to comply with applicable law, personal information collected may include: Copy of your ID, Second form of ID, Fingerprint, and/or Photograph of you."

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

i had the same issue try this..

"Folks not receiving verification text from BestBuy - Opt for text messages from BestBuy by sending 'HELP' to numbers - 332211 and 22891 (do both). You should receive verification text on the next try"

This worked for me.
