This is with bestbuy, so no bill credit involved, it's instant trade in value that deducts from the sale price, and tax is on the deducted selling price too. Don't mislead others.

ATT is $100 cheaper further. $500 for mini and $600 for regular. But trade in values are horrible.

T-Mo is still the best in value overall.

***Unlock taking 5 days now.*** been checking my phone off and on for 2 days, still sim locked.

"Thank you so much for sending those details over, and for filling out the verification! For devices purchased from Best Buy, we are able to utilize an offline support team to get unlock requests processed 🙂 I was able to go ahead and get this information sent off for you - so that is completed! These requests are typically processed within 5 business days, at which time you'll be able to follow the steps outlined on this page here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201328 to complete your request 🙂 How does this all sound? I want to ensure you're 100% set for success!"

You summed it up perfectly! Laughed out loud reading the last line!!
The word is schadenfreude. I'm not sure that is entirely true as to the inner business relationship between BB and Tmo regardless of the obvious integration technicalities. As long as customers as happy, they are more than likely to remain with the service. The cost to sustain business is relatively minimal. I think the blowback from recent promos directly from Tmo has been uninventive and they might use this third party approach(BB) to furnish a more exclusive environment of their brand.

anyone had a success unlocking with t-force without even opening and activation ?
You cant, you see these are Flex policy iPhone which means they aren't carrier specific ones and are unlocked in its box and only become lock once a sim is inserted (can be any carrier), T mobile has ability to unlock once they see that IMEI on their network, if you don't ever insert your T mobile sim they don't even know it exist to even unlock it.

Today, the BestBuy system glitch is gone, can place order if you already have T-Mobile account to add a line or upgrade. ( I used my newly created T-Mobile phone number and last 4 digit SSN as "1111" to successfully connected to T-Mobile. )
Still NOT working if you want to create new T-Mobile account through BB checkout page.

What I did today: went to T-Mobile retail store during my lunch, have them open a new account for me with the $20 text&call only plan. I didn't have to bring in a phone or IMEI, they charge $30 activation and give me a new sim card & phone number within 10 mins. Waited about 30 mins ( MYT-Mobile.com didn't recognize the new account\phone# right away), get on my computer to bestbuy.com add my iPhone 13, apply trade-in details, verify T-Mobile account by using my newly received T-Mobile phone number and last 4 digit SSN as "1111" . Everything smooth all the way to place order. I will pickup the iPhone 13 tomorrow in BB, along with my old phone to finalize the trade-in.
I'm still getting this BB/Tm server communication issue the "Please try again we had an issue, but it should be fixed now."

Is it possible to open a new T-mobile account online instead of going into the T-mobile store?

Surprised that this deal is still going! Thanks to this deal, everyone of my immediate family is now issued an unlocked iPhone 13 mini 128GB. I'd repped the OP three times if I could.

Keeping my fingers crossed for a iPhone 13 Pro deal so that I can trade in my last older iphone, the 11 pro max.

$20 talk and text plan only available in TM retail store or calling in. Calling in you will need to have a new SIM card ready for provide to the CSR.

Like what 13 Pro deal? The 11 Pro gets $590 credit already not bad IMO.

Quick question for those familiar with T-mobile; my wife had a iPhone 12 that she bought on a trade-in deal with T-mobile and she's paying monthly $34 EIP payments with a monthly $26 credit. If we now traded in her iPhone 12 to Best Buy to get the iPhone 13 using my Dad's T-mobile account for the "upgrade", does she have to payoff the iPhone 12 we traded in, or is it ok to leave things as is and just keep making the $34-$26=$8 payment add on to our T-mobile service? Thanks!

If you are looking for a trade-in phone, you have a couple of options:

1) Find a used trade-in on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, Offerup, etc.
Advantages: Same day transactions. Negotiate for better deals. Helping out the local economy. Cash is king.
Considerations: Lots of trash or overpriced phones. Meet only in busy public locations for safety. Carefully inspect the phone for damage and replaced parts. Check the phone (run all the free IMEI checks for stolen, lost, blacklist, icloud and google locks, etc.).

2) Swappa.com or a corporate used phone seller on ebay
Advantages: If you get a good+ phone, it's probably going to work for a trade-in. Can ask for refund if phone is not tradable.
Considerations: Wait for shipping, this 3 month deal could end. Reasonable / tad higher prices. Check the phone (run all the free IMEI checks for stolen, lost, blacklist, icloud and google locks, etc.).

3) totalwireless.com iPhone XR or iPhone SE 2020 refurbs
Advantages: $135.49 + tax (using coupon code USI15 or taxtime22). YMMV credit card discounts. YMMV Cashback stores. Phone will very likely work for Best Buy trade-in as a Verizon phone.
Considerations: Wait for shipping, this 3 month deal could end. iPhone XR comes in and out of stock. Cannot cancel order once placed, can only decline order from UPS delivery or return at your own cost (no refund on $25 airtime). Shipping is fast 1-3 days, but if you are unlucky, your order may be stuck in order fulfillment for days / weeks.

Check the original thread from last September. Somehow, a handful of folks convinced TMo to farm the unlock out to their third party even though it was a sealed box phone not "known" to their network. Nothing I'd ever need to try - these folks were perhaps getting ready for XMas or knew they would get $50 more for a sealed box phone when they sold it.

The funniest was the guy wanting to confirm the phone was unlocked without opening the box - that took some work on a third party website and a couple of dollars.

As I think about the function of those Apple "activation servers" I agree there is no sensible way to conceive of this working - but the stories seemed valid when posted.

Search this thread for posts from lawrencelin - give him some rep points while you are there. He was kind enough to loop back after picking up an early trade-in for an acquaintance on Visible

You can trade in the iPhone 12 with EIP on it. You just have to continue to pay the $8 payment per months. Traded in 2 iPhone for the 13 myself and those 12 still have EIP payment.

I have my $20 line cancelled but tmob says I can reactivate within 90 days but is there going to be any re-activation fees?

Can I use the same sim after re-activation?
