Deal History

The Vornado is for pushing lots of air at once to regulate room temperature, while this is a more traditional fan to keep those sitting in front of it cool, not that it can't regulate room air as well.
The rowenta can also move a good amount of air while staying really quiet, which I really wanted for my home theater room which used to be in a sun room that got both hot and cold depending on the time of year.
A strong Vornado on high can probably move more air, but it would also be a lot louder.
The rowenta can still move a good amount of air on higher settings too, though

Good guess! Another guess might be it's a shill post getting complimented by many people using a second account created mainly for this purpose. I always make it a point to check a commenter's rep score. The site created this feature so one could discern suspicious users who have earned minimal scores. As an example, one who has only earned 8 reps in a nearly 10 year time frame. I mean we're given 10 reps just for signing up!
Just a guess though!
As a slickdealer for close to two decades, I assure you I own the pedestal fan version and have owned it for years:
Yea I have a couple dc vornados that we're well worth the $100 each. I could've installed a ceiling fan for the same price but these fans can move. They're eerily silent at low-mod speeds. Super powerful on high. I would like to see a battle between rowenta and vornado.
Yes, I have 3 of the Vornado DC fans. I love the variable speed knob and energy efficiency... and they are very quiet on lower speeds but can really push some air at higher speeds.
My comment was exclusive to those described-- as users with low reputation scores, a group you would not be included in. There were a couple of other positive comments on the deal here by users with high rep scores as well.
Have the tall one. It's been running majority of the time for the last seven years. Love these fans. They are super quiet compared to all my other fans! Not to mention the fan with remote works well with IR blasters for automations.
We use a Vornado in the bedroom for moving air and white noise. It's a pain to apart and clean. The white noise is important for us, how do these rowentas compare noise wise? Too quiet?

They have quiet motors, but it really depends on how loud the air where you live is.
Is the newer 5-speed model with remote worth paying extra $20 for. The warranty seems to be just 1 year and these things hardly broke within a year so I might just go buy the Amazon warehouse one to save some more. I need a quiet fan for my home office.
Looks cheap for the asking price. I'm sure the only thing special about this fan, over a $10 Wally fan, is that the acoustics were taken into consideration when setting/programming the speed settings.
For roughly the same asking price, I think a DC Vornado is the better product. It carries a REDICULOUS 10 year warranty. Also keep in mind DC motors can do PWM signaling, which is what makes them so quiet and efficient at lower settings.
Lol, when it's in a room where you want to reduce the amount of noise (e.g. home office where you don't want to have background noise so you can hear better), acoustics make all the difference. I don't want to have to turn up my TV to listen to news because my fan drowns it out, especially when I could get a customer call and need to turn off both.

I think they can charge more. Because people who buy this fan basically think "I pay more, I get more". And People who think the opposite would just buy a $20 fan from walmart.
