I have been using six V2 as outdoor cams for over a year now. They are not rated for outdoor but I have no problem yet. I put them where the rain can't get in. And I'm in the SF bay area so temperature never get extreme.

I don't have the V3 but it's rated for outdoor so I think it should be better.

I have 3 of these from the Home Depot clearance deal setup outside my house for the last month so I can watch my dogs from inside. As long as you have an OK wifi signal and a source for USB power they seem to work really well even in the recent single degree temperatures and snow storms.

I have used plenty of Wyze CamV2s before for indoor purposes, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the CamV3 night vision even with the add-on spotlights not activated (the color night vision was so bright/crisp that I had to double-check that my outside floodlights weren't still on)

Designed for outside use.

To watch it remotely, if you have a hotspot, then yes. If not, you can view footage when you return to the hotel, if you have an SD card installed.

The outdoor cam has that type of connectivity. I'm not sure how easy it would be too connect it to hotel wifi. Maybe if you had your own hotspot...

This is the v3, you can also get the version with 3 month Cam Plus for under $30.

It is. And that’s correct. This deal has been on and off since the beginning of this month. I got one. Floodlight works very well actually.
If anyone is on the fence about buying it, starting February 12th you will no longer get free 12 second recording to the their cloud unless you pay for it. If you buy before then, you can opt in for free with any Wyze camera you have.

No, this is a WiFi camera and only needs a WiFi router and internet access.

No but once its on the free 12 second clip on the cloud, you can download it onto your phone. Dude, just by an SD card. It's like $7 bucks. You can also download the videos from your card onto your phone etc., without taking the card out.

Use local SD storage and it's unlimited. You know of any cam that gives you unlimited cloud storage for free?
I'm skipping Wyze now, I don't really trust them to support these fully into the future. I am not looking to change security cameras often as they take features away.

Is this the v3? So it's cheaper to buy it with the spotlight kit than without?

You just need to opt in for it, it's still free.

The question now is "am I willing to let myself be fooled again by Wyze?"

If Wyze changes its mind again and takes away features 6 months down the line...that'll be a shame on me.

It is tempting.

I picked one up for $13 from my local Home Depot on clearance. It was V3 with the spotlight as well.

For those who just want the camera and not the spotlight, they arrive in different packaging so you can ship back the spotlight to Amazon and get a $10-$11 refund for it, making the price of the camera only around $24.
